This is an upside-down fired Ding ware, a representative work of impressed pattern craft with exquisite quality. The same kind of impressed dragon pattern dishes is extremely rare, thus it a masterpiece in the history of porcelain, especially impressed with the dragon pattern that is also similar to that on the stone engravings from the imperial tomb of the Northern Song dynasty.
