Road Trip From England to Tenerife | 1,500 Miles With a Fiat on 177,000 Miles, towing a Motorbike!
The day finally arrived! Monika and I packed up the Fiat 500, hooked the trailer up to the back, loaded up the Bonneville and hit the road for a new adventure in Tenerife. This will be a road trip that consists of over 1,500 miles by land, and then fort hours by sea! The Fiat started the journey on 177,000 miles, and with the Bonneville attached, it was right on the maximum towing capacity limit, and with the car itself full to the brim with our belongings, we weren’t 100% sure if it’d make it! We boarded the ferry from the port of Dover on the south coast of England, and enjoyed some breakfast for the 75 minute crossing. The cost of the ferry for Monika, myself, the car and trailer, was £170. The trailer was purchased second hand from eBay for £150- there’s loads of choice on eBay for used trailers at good prices! These first two days were spent driving through France on their Peage motorways (I think it cost around £80 in toll charges to drive through France), and then into Northern Spain.
