Malibu Sues State of California, City of Los Angeles Over Palisades Fire

The city of Malibu is taking legal action after the Palisades Fire devastated the community. City leaders say government failures, including prioritizing the protection of rare plants over clearing brush, worsened the damage. In a 66-page complaint, Malibu says the wildfire destroyed more than 700 homes and dozens of businesses, leaving burn scars along Pacific Coast Highway and damaging areas like Carbon Beach.
