Empress Fuca | Qianlong Emperors Tragic First Wife

n today's episode of the Roses Past we venture to the Qing court under the reign of Emperor Qianlong (personal name Hongli). Our focus is Empress Fuca, she comes from the prominent Manchurian Bordered Yellow Banner Fuca clan. She married Hongli when she was 15 years old. At the time Hongli was the 4th prince and it was not known that he would someday become Emperor of China. Lady Fuca was widely recorded as being calm, pleasant, frugal, and compassionate. Although she died young and left no male heir Qianlong mourned her deeply for the rest of his 51 years on the earth. She was buried in Yu Mausoleum inside of the Eastern Qing Tombs on the left hand side next to the Emperor with Consort Ling taking the right hand side
