The Story Behind My First Major Gallery Exhibition
I almost didn’t apply for this exhibition.
In the summer of 2025, I submitted an application to the Art Gallery of Burlington’s Community Generator program, not expecting anything to come from it.
Then I got an email that changed everything.
This video tells the full story of how my photography exhibition came together, from the moment I was accepted to the creative decisions behind every piece on display.
Instead of simply hanging prints, I wanted to build something that truly reflected my work exploring abandoned places.
So I sourced real window frames from an abandoned house.
I created custom LED backlit photographs.
And I built a layered 3D shadow-box centerpiece that took weeks to complete.
Every image in this exhibition revolves around one idea:
How light transforms forgotten spaces.
In this video, you’ll see:
• The acceptance email that started it all
• How I selected each photograph
• Behind the scenes of building the frames
• The story behind the most challenging piece
• What it feels like seeing your work inside an art gallery
If you enjoy abandoned places photography, urban exploration, and creative storytelling, this video gives you a full behind the scenes look at one of my biggest projects.
📍 The exhibition is currently on display at the Art Gallery of Burlington until May 24, 2026.
Admission is free.
