Scarlett Johansson's input on her character in Marriage Story ｜ VENI Magazine Presents

It wasn't actually the subject that attracted me. It was the opportunity to work on something like this with Noah and feel like we could develop the character together and he was writing something for me as an adult. You know, we tried to collaborate on something 10 years ago and it was a much less realized woman and I think finally I felt like he and I were kind of, it was just a good time for us as two creative people to collaborate on something. I mean the character of Natasha is such a great role model for young girls and I don't have to, I can separate myself from her and feel like I can live my own experience without the responsibility of being a role model like Natasha is. I mean she's a really brave person who's a survivor and she puts the lives of the people that she loves before her own and she makes heroic choices I think and she's also in herself and grounded and able to make active choices for herself. I was able to explore that so much more in this standalone film and really like, you know, she really, really celebrate the idea of self-forgiveness and, you know, there's a lot in that and I think it's exciting when you play a character that's that celebrated by young women that also is like a positive role model. I would say, I guess, I'd say buy Facebook stock. It's probably a good thing to do. Buy stock in Amazon, Apple.
