Inside this San Francisco warehouse, the team at Foundation is putting together humanoids with 500 parts, including titanium bones and tendon-driven fingers. Foundation's founder and CEO Sankaet Pathak walked us through every step: pressing ring pins into actuators, soldering motor controllers, bolting together limbs designed to survive forces that would shatter most machines.

The hands alone are an engineering rabbit hole. The next generation mimics human anatomy, with tendons running from fingertips to forearm. By the end, our robot friends gets up and walks. This is what the robotics looks like when you strip away the renders and the fundraising decks: a crew in a workshop making a machine that might or might not eventually do your job.
