Scarlett Johansson Tony Speech

In her Broadway debut, Scarlett Johansson wins the Tony Award for her marvellous performance as Catherine in A View From The Bridge. And here I am. Unbelievable. Thank you so much. Thank you to the Tony voters and thank you to the Broadway community for opening their arms and welcoming me. I'd like to thank our producers, Stuart Thompson for being the classiest man in show business. To Brian Lord and Jim Toth and Joe Mahota at CAA, thank you for, in the midst of doing Iron Man 2, saying, Yeah, you should go do this play for a few months. It'd be great. It's a very rare thing. I'd like to thank Greg Mosier for convincing me that I could do it when I never thought that I could. To my incredible cast, Jessica Hecht, Michael Kristoffer, to Liev Schreiber for teaching me to never anticipate anything. And through that, finding magic in the unexpected, you are truly the most generous actor and thank you so much for guiding me. I would like to thank my incredible family, my mother, Melanie, for pounding the pavement with me when I was 8 years old and for supporting me and always fighting for me. To my Canadian, who I live with, Brian, thank you for becoming a theatre widower for me. I never could have done it without your support. And I would like to finally thank Arthur Miller. I dedicate this to him and thank him for all of the guidance and the little messages that he left in the book. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
