The Bike Shed and Bolt Motorcycles London | Two of the Coolest Biker Hangouts in London!

Good morning, welcome back to the channel. Monica and I are going to head off into London and go to a place that we've actually been recommended on the YouTube channel and that is Bolt Motorcycles in London. From what I can see, and we've never been, I think it's a destination dealership. I think, to be honest, I don't know. I don't know if they've got a coffee shop, I don't know if they serve food, but it looks like a cool biker hangout. We know nothing else about it, do we? No, nothing. We're trying to figure it out on Instagram, but let's go, we'll take you along, see what it's like. Well, here we are in Bolt. We've arrived and first things first, first impressions, you just would have no idea it existed if you didn't know about it. Such a cool place, just tucked away in Stoke Newington in London and it's got everything. You've got the Bolts clothing, merchandise, very cool Harley there, another bike there, helmets behind me and kind of a cool old record shop. And I think they do do coffee, so I'll grab a coffee in a bit, but super, super cool, cool selection of helmets, gear, a leather jacket as well. I've heard about those, very cool. Stopped for coffee, I just heard such a great story from the owner. So, back in the the 50s and 60s, the UK, London was really famous for something called the Tun-Up Boys and they would basically ride around the Triumphs and Nortons and things like that and they would try and get to a hundred miles an hour, that's hence the name Tun-Up Boys and one of the Ali Pali, short for Alexander Palace, one of the Ali Pali Tun-Up Boys actually came in here last week from, and he was a Tun-Up Boy, leather jacket, Triumph Norton, you can imagine, picture the scene, from 1957 he would park his bike in here, in this exact yard here and he came in last week, I think he's over 90 years old or something, he parked his bike in the exact same spot as my Bonneville is there and he just came in last week, how amazing is that and he's still going, still got the enthusiasm for bikes, I love that type of stuff, but this place is like a little oasis, just completely stopped in time, isn't it, everything looks exactly as it would have done, wild guess, 80 years ago or something, you've got a hairdresser upstairs, you've got coffee in here, old records, all of the Bolt London stuff inside, cool clothing, possibly the only Triumph there, it's a great thing and they also do events and things like that, I know they've got an event in the countryside tomorrow, here's a perfect courtyard for barbecues, beers, things like that, it's a cool place, can't believe it's the first time I've been and I really had no idea about this place until someone recommended it, so thank you. Didn't have food unfortunately at Bolt, so had a coffee there, enjoyed it, very very unique place, so we're gonna go to Bike Shed and we've realized Bike Shed's only three miles away, 15 minutes away, so we'll go to Bike Shed for a bite to eat. Between Bike Shed and Bolt, Bolt is like buying a 1957 Triumph and Bike Shed is like buying a brand new modern classic motorbike, Bolt is straight out of the 50s and 60s and Bike Shed is the new version of that. I haven't seen one of these in ages, Triumph Trident 900, that's a really cool-looking bike, 1993, great-looking bike, Sportster, always love those, such cool-looking bikes and you've got a T100, that looks like, hmm okay, I'm not gonna embarrass myself and guess what that is actually, KTM Aprilia and then, I like those Tenere's, that's good, and then an Africa Twin, really like these Africa Twins, very cool bike and look at that classic Fireblade behind it, with, I think that's got no front fairing actually, wow, that looks like it's in the process of something being done to it, no front on that at all, this is a very special bike, the Harley, look at that, I think that's kind of green flip paint or something, that is so nice, wow, that is a stunning long-distance machine. Bike parked up and into Bike Shed, it's one of the coolest spots in London, definitely for bikes, it's a destination dealership, you've got a great place, well, you've got a barber, restaurant shop over there, just behind me there, restaurant ahead of us, right in Shoreditch and actually it's only about two to three miles away from Bolton, but it's just a cool, cool selection of everything biking related and it's just a really good place to, well I think we've wasted about three hours here, it's just so much to see and do, genuinely good food here as well, with a brilliant menu, you can see behind me, bar, it goes all the way back and it's the seating area that really makes it, you can just go through the whole seating area on your bike and I'll walk over there now, because you ride it on your bike through the seating area and it's just a great place to stop, if you're sitting down, having a coffee, having a bite to eat and you just see bikes, especially on a Saturday or Sunday, see bikes riding past, you just get to sit back and relax and also, okay so I'm on to the seating area, but if you're coming for example, if you're coming to look for a bit of gear to try out or you're not sure the right type of gear that you would like, if you come to a place like Bike Shed, it is the perfect place to come, try out some gear and get a good idea of the type of gear that you may like, it's just got a lot of different cool brands, so that is the rideway or the driveway and now I'm coming through and you come through here to the bike lock-up and this is where everyone parks up their bikes, so left and right hand side and if you come on a Sunday and you come on for example the MotoGP days, this will be absolutely packed and I think they may even turn, I think it's the room next door, into a like a mini cinema room, but I've seen the owners Dutch and Vicky are in the room next door, I think they're having a meeting or something like that, so I probably won't go vlogging in there, but it's a completely unique place unlike anywhere else and it's made this area shortage, just so much richer for having it in here with the diverse choice of bikes and bringing together so many different types of people, I've spoken actually to a few different bikers who have kindly come over to us, it's just like a melting pot of different bikers, everyone gets together, great, great environment. This is Bike Shed's collaboration with Royal Enfield, they did a few bike sheds version of a perfect Interceptor and this is the result, look at the front headlamp, I love that, LED front headlamp with this brilliant looking surround, chunky tyres and have a look at this for a rear light, so that rear light with a way, way chunkier tyre than normal, that makes the Interceptor look so mean and an old-school seat as well, I love that and look at this, tiny, tiny minimal exhaust. Helmet selection including something I've never tried but really should, these Bell helmets, I think that's the custom 500, they also do the bullets which look great, Hedon, they seem to be everywhere, these Hedons in all of the coolest shops, they had them at Crazy Horse, Bell stuff, jackets, again these are actually riding jackets and they look brilliant, it's actually got a mesh lining there, exposed, so that'll be a good summer riding jacket, Bell stuff, Bell stuff in collaboration with Urban Rider, they've got a massive, massive selection actually of Bell stuff gear, I would love, love to try some of that stuff out, more helmets there and helmets over there, boot selection, they've got something actually for Monica in theory, which is a ladies riding section as well, over here, so if you are a female rider looking for some inspiration, this is a very good place for the ladies and let's see what they've got, got, actually here we go, so these are the ladies rocker boots, to be completely honest I've never seen those ones but ladies boots there, gloves, decent amount of stock along with a Ducati, that's, this is actually for sale, so a few of the bikes that they've got on display, like this one, are actually for sale and one of my favourite magazines, Built Magazine, brilliant for that custom vibe stuff and the whole, the whole basically, the whole building of Bike Shed are built with these arches, I think three or four of these arches and every section of Bike Shed has these arches, whether it's the restaurant section, the shop section or the bike lock-up section, have a look at that, amazing, so gear for the day, just before we head home, maybe, should I mention this, because it's American, DOT, DOT approved helmet, Daytona, sunglasses, these are the Ethan, Italian company, Ethan, E-T-H-E-N, brand of sunglasses, designed for biking, extreme sports, are super bendy and flexible, you can sit on these and they'll be fine, gloves, racer gloves, that's a French company called the Ronins, these are the coolest gloves, temperature wise, that I own, along with the Rocker, Rocker Tech jacket in brown, it's premium this, but it is a nice, it's three times the price of a lot of my other riding shirts, but it is really nice quality, along with the Rocker Tech jeans from Rocker, and then from Poland, Broga, insert name here, boots, very good quality, well good quality with real stitching, as well as being just a hundred and twenty pounds, so great value as well, and that's it for today, for today, we actually didn't plan to visit Bolt and Bike Shed in the same day, but it just so happened that Bolt, we didn't know if they did food or not, and Bike Shed was very close, so there you go, you've seen, probably, I think it's fair to say, two of the absolute coolest motorcycle hangouts, destination dealerships in London, two pretty much, they've got the same idea in mind, but two very different approaches to that, one's more focused on, on being in the 50s and 60s, and everything that goes with, for example, the Rockers, the leather jackets, the records, the music, almost borderline hippie vibe, and it's just so unique, I loved Bolt of London, and then you've got Bike Shed, which is thoroughly up-to-date in every single way, but that's it, two of the coolest places in London for bikers, hugely recommend both, we've had a brilliant day, and I think we've been out for about five hours, and it's just flown by, thank you so much for watching, please do give the video a like, subscribe to the channel, and we'll see you in the next one, and one more thing before we go, these are the side streets of Shoreditch, and you get this all over Shoreditch, it's just the most eclectic mix of different back streets and architecture, graffiti everywhere, oh, and then an army Land Rover parked up as well, it's brilliant, it's just so effective, you don't know what you're gonna find.
