In the final hours before the Ohio Viking Festival, we here at Birchouse Workshop have decided to add not one but two new shields to our interactive educational display. These are new builds we have never offered before, and we are thrilled to bring these recreations to life.

First is a Japanese Tate shield. A type of mobile fortification made from White Pine and treated with hemp oil from The Real Milk Paint Co., this shield is made entirely from wood. A very cool piece of kit from fuedal Japan and the era of the Samurai.

Traveling the globe and a a few millenia, our second shield is the Egyptian Ikem Shield. A plank build shield with a handsome cow hide facing. This shield is being brought to the Ohio Viking Festival as part of a collaboration with our friends at Uggla's Night Forge!

These unique shields are now available to custom order from Birchouse Workshop, and we will have some in stock in due course. In the meantime, there is a link below for more festival information. We hope to see you there!
