SpaceX Just Turned the Starship V3 Testing Up a Notch. NASA SLS in LEAKED Trouble |SpaceWeekly#31
SpaceX has completed its largest cryogenic test in more than two and a half years after unexpected movement was observed on Booster 19. At the same time, NASA moved forward with the Artemis 2 wet dress rehearsal, only to encounter new issues that caused delays.
The root cause of the SLS hydrogen leak has now been identified, revealing a stark contrast with the solution SpaceX is pursuing. To cap it off, Elon Musk has shared the first concrete details about the next-generation Raptor 4 engine.
Let’s break down the top spaceflight stories of the week on today’s episode of Great SpaceX.

SpaceX has just conducted an impressive cryogenic test for its V3 booster, marking a milestone we have not seen in years.
This is the moment everyone has been waiting for. It is time to fire.
Following the movement of Booster 19 on January 31st, SpaceX conducted a series of smaller tests, beginning with a pressure test. After the vehicle stabilized, signs suggested that fuel loading had begun.
However, the initial loading appeared to involve only the liquid oxygen tank, as indicated by frost forming exclusively on that section of the booster. Based on this, I anticipated that another, more comprehensive test would follow.

That test not only took place, but it exceeded expectations.
The test occurred this afternoon on February 4th, and this time the entire booster was covered in white frost. This condition, commonly referred to as a full frosty, is something typically seen only on launch day.
During this test, both fuel tanks were fully loaded, resulting in the booster being completely encased in frost. This visual confirmation clearly demonstrated that a full cryogenic load had been achieved.
Notably, this represents the largest cryogenic test conducted on a Super Heavy booster since Booster 9, which flew on Flight 2. Between Booster 9 and Booster 19, SpaceX typically tested only one tank at a time, either fully loaded or partially loaded, or tested both tanks simultaneously without fully loading them.
