Welcome back to Mr. Spud Chinese! In HSK 1 Lesson 1, we turned on the "Engines" (the Simple Finals: a, o, e...). But an engine can't fly without a Pilot.

Today, we meet the first group of Initials (声母)—the Pilots of Pinyin: b, p, m, f, d, t, n, l, g, k, h.

The biggest mistake beginners make is mixing up sounds like "b" and "p". Why? Because of Airflow (Aspiration).
