Hi sweet friends! Welcome back to my channel. I'm so happy you're here for another summer
decorating video and as you can see today we are decorating the living room. This is my last space
to decorate on my main level before everything's completed and I can just sit back and enjoy all
the summer decor. I've removed all the spring items from my room and gave it a really good
clean so everything feels so fresh and ready for summer decor. I do of course have my little helper
Holstein with me today. He was just watching me. I know he wanted a little treat before we got to
decorating and I know you all love seeing him in my videos so I do love to share him with all of
you. We've been really enjoying this warm weather here in Ontario. It's been up and down. Some days
it's really warm and then it gets colder but hopefully it's going to stay warm for a while
now and we can really enjoy an amazing summer because here we do have long winters and we're
so ready for some warm weather. So let me know in the comments how the weather is where you are
and if you're enjoying your summer so far. I know I've mentioned in previous videos I didn't want
to spend a lot on home decor this season but when I was out shopping there were a few things that I
saw and I just couldn't pass up starting with these gorgeous pillows and blankets. These pillows I did
get two of each. I love the ruffled ones especially and I know I can use those in so many rooms for
different seasons. I also love those bow pillows and when I was out shopping I spotted this blanket.
I've been looking for one that's very simple with a gorgeous print and this one checked all the
boxes. I also loved that it was reversible and I thought it was a pretty fair price at $34.99.
I did have a gift card so I ended up using it toward this purchase and I think it's so beautiful.
So before we get into the decorating I want to thank Teddy Blake New York for sending me this
gorgeous handbag. I've worked with Teddy Blake in the past and I can't recommend their bags enough.
I typically don't work with many companies here on YouTube. I always want to be able to stand
behind everything I recommend to you guys but this company is so amazing and their bags are
so well made and so gorgeous. Every Teddy Blake bag is made in Italy with premium Italian leather.
The smell of real leather feels so luxurious. As soon as I opened the bag I could smell it
and Teddy Blake has a team of Italian designers that create handbags for every style choice.
The designers work very hard to develop unique and new designs while keeping the price point
affordable. The handbag I selected is the Lola Croc in black and each Teddy Blake bag truly feels
like a work of art. This feels so special and just a piece I know I'll treasure for many years.
Another feature I love is that it comes with a crossbody strap. This makes it so easy if you're
carrying something. I love the option to be able to carry it on my shoulder or as a crossbody.
It makes it so convenient when I'm out and about. I want to thank Teddy Blake for sending me a coupon
code for all of you. It's TBREBECCAF30 and with that code you can get an extra $30 off your order
which is so nice of them to do that. I will leave all the information linked in my description box
if you're interested but you'll definitely have to let me know in the comments if there's a bag
you love and what color you would go with. So let's get right into the summer decorating.
I have this gorgeous wreath. I believe I purchased this from Sheridan Nurseries
quite a few years ago. I just added some twine and then I have a hook on the back of my mirror.
It's super convenient and I love the touch of this wreath. Next piece of decor I'm going to
add to the mantle is this boxed floral arrangement. I've had this for so many years, probably eight
years. I got it from HomeSense. It's in perfect condition and then to the top of it I thought I
would switch it up and add these little birds. They are so super sweet. I think it's actually
a potpourri sachet that you can put in these but I love the added touch of these sweet little birds.
Next I'm going to go in with these gorgeous gold candlesticks. A lot of you have asked in the past
where I've gotten them from and it's typically always Winners and HomeSense. I think these ones
were around $7.99 and $9.99 each so really inexpensive but I love that I can use them
seasonally around the house, on the tablescapes, on the mantles and then I'm also going to go in
with these gorgeous bookends. I did tie some ribbon that I got from Michaels on them.
Such an easy way to incorporate the color you're using is by adding some ribbon. I think the look
is very simple but very pretty and perfect for summer on the mantle. I definitely do go
more out in the fall and winter when I'm decorating my mantle especially but sometimes
simple touches say a lot and just add a really elegant airy feel to the space which I feel like
this does. I do have my candle holders right by the fireplace but we're going to move over to
our bookshelves now. I did pick up these blue plates this year while I was out thrifting. They
were really inexpensive. They do have some white speckling on them but I'm not sure if the camera
is picking them up but the shelf definitely needed some color. Then I'm going to go in with
this blue and white container from Value Village as well as this sweet little duck that I found
this year thrifting. I think these add the perfect little touches to this shelf. I did decide to tuck
in a book for a little bit of a cottage feel and then I'm going in with another basket that I of
thrifted and I also have this really pretty print. I think it's so stunning. I also love the gold
frame. It was $3.99 from Value Village. I have another one as well that I'll use on the other
bookshelf and then while I was out thrifting this weekend I did find this really pretty scalloped
bowl. I could not pass it up. I actually got two and the detail and the color is so stunning.
I absolutely love how the mantle and the bookshelf are looking. I truly believe you should decorate
in a way that makes you happy and if that's decorating really minimally that's great. If
you love to add a lot of decor that's perfect too. It's your home, a space that you live in
and see every day so I truly believe all of our styles are so unique and what we prefer
and decorating in a way that makes you happy just really makes each season more enjoyable.
This cute little basket box was also a thrift find. It's so adorable. I'm looking for more
little baskets like this from the thrift stores. You can't beat the prices and you can store little
treasures in there. I also added this cute little vase that was from Value Village as well as this
gorgeous French country inspired vase that was a Value Village purchase from last year I believe.
I know people have commented before that they don't love my bookshelves.
I personally like them and they were affordable. They were from IKEA. It would be nice to have
built-in bookshelves or something a little bit fancier but for now these work really well and
I'm content and happy with them. I don't need to have a designer home. I just like to decorate in
a way like I said that makes me happy and these bookshelves were affordable and that makes me
happy but maybe one day we'll upgrade them if I can find something. It is really hard here in
Canada finding affordable bookshelves or built-ins. Everything's extremely expensive and
it's just not in my budget right now so I'm going to decorate these and be grateful and happy that
I have them. This is the other print I was talking about from Value Village. It's a little bit
different but still so adorable and sweet. Something about it just feels very vintage
and cottage-like so I'm so glad I was happy to find those two pieces. I feel like they really
added so much to the bookshelves and then of course I'm adding my vase with these wispy
florals that I got from the Dublin Mercantile. I wish that I could link a lot more items for you
but it's hard because the stores that I shop are typically HomeSense and Winners and the Dublin
Mercantile doesn't always have items that are in the store online so I wish I could link more for
you guys but again mostly thrifted items and HomeSense and Winners where I can't link anything
but hopefully it gives you inspiration and you can find similar items. Moving over to this little
table I do have this cloche. I got this from Michael's last year. It has a hook on the top
with a V. I just added a plate for a little pop of blue and then I'm going to go in with this
watering can also. I love to use watering cans in the spring and summer and then one of my sweet
subscribers who's now a really good friend sent me this teacup candle. I think it's absolutely
precious. I'll probably never burn it but it's one of my favorite pieces and I'm so excited to be able
to display it this summer. My little helper is sleeping on the job while resting I should say.
I wanted to switch out my pillows but he loves laying on my pillows. I always make sure I have
one on the couch for him. He was looking at me I think he knew that I was about to switch the
pillows up but I'm going to switch it to this ruffled one as well as this bow one. I actually
am going to keep the striped one because I think all the colors go together really well but I had
to convince little Holstein to get up. He was absolutely loving lounging here. It was afternoon
the sun was out so he was just having a little nap. I was looking to try to buy pillow covers
for some of my pillows on Amazon but there was just none that I really loved and I've been really
good lately. I haven't bought a lot of new pillows so these were definitely a treat and I think
they're just so unique and different. That's probably why I like them so much especially
the bows. Those were from HomeSense. They were $24.99 each but as you can tell I think Holstein
approves of these pillows. He looks very comfy as soon as I put them on here. He climbed up to
continue his afternoon nap and he's definitely the boss of this house. Where he wants to lay,
he's more than welcome. I'm just going to add the same pillows to the other part of my sectional.
I did split my sectional up. I feel like it opens a room up so much more but I would love to find
some smaller couches and maybe get rid of the ottoman and just have a small table. This set
is definitely very large and boxy but at the time I wanted something really comfy and cozy.
It's probably been about 10 years now since we've had this set because we are going to be living in
this house for 10 years this December which I cannot believe the time has absolutely flown by.
I think adding a few simple touches on the ottoman helps break up all the grey so I do have
this scalloped tray. I purchased these last year I believe and anything scalloped is so pretty and
to me. I do have this really cute dog. I got him from Homesense. He was only $9.99. He is so heavy
though but I think he's so adorable and then I decided to add a few of these pots with moss
and then just some coasters. I think this display turned out so adorable. I love that little dog
so much. I was considering putting him on my porch but I definitely don't want him to get
ruined with all the bad weather that we get here and the last little touch I want to add to this
room is this cute little basket. I added a doily and I just think it's so sweet just tucked onto
this little ottoman here that I have with a blue flower. It just kind of ties the whole room in
together. I absolutely love how this room came together. It's probably one of my favorite living
rooms I've decorated in a long time. All the pops of blue and the wood tones as well as the wicker
is making me so happy. It feels very summery, very cottagey and French country which was exactly
the look I was going for. You'll have to let me know in the comments what you think and what your
favorite pieces of decor that I used were. I would also love to know if you have any exciting
summer plans or not even exciting plans just exciting to you plans. I know that I'm definitely
a homebody. I love being in my own home and just going on day trips. I really don't like sleeping
in different places. I've always been like that. I think it's because we didn't travel much when I
was younger. We mostly just did family day trips so we do have a trip to the cottage plan. My sister
is renting the cottage for a few weeks so we'll probably stay there a few nights but besides that
it will just be day trips. I would like to go to the beach but definitely let me know what you have
planned. I would love to hear from you guys in the comments. I enjoy hearing from you so much.
That's definitely the highlight for me of doing YouTube is being able to chat with you all every
week. I just wanted to say I hope you all have an amazing week. I am truly so grateful for all of
your support and love every week and it doesn't go unnoticed so please have a wonderful week. If you
are interested in a Teddy Blake bag at all I will leave all the details in my description box
but until the next video friends take care and God bless.
