VALENTINE'S DAY DECORATING 💕 How to enjoy the season of love
Well hello friends and welcome back to my channel. Welcome to the month of February
2026. Today we are going to slow roll into the joy of Valentine's Day. Do a little decorating.
I am so excited. If you're new here my name is Lauren Nicholson. I love to share all things
homemaking here on my channel. Would love it if you would join and subscribe. Give this video
a heart to say hi to the pets and let's jump into this beautiful day because I have so much to share.
I grabbed our boxes of Valentine's Day stuff and decided we're just going to be putting
up a little bit right now. I'll be doing more as the month progresses. I have my daughter's
birthday so I typically do most of my decorating after the fourth but today I have some really
cute little projects we're going to do which I think add just a very subtle beautiful touch of
Valentine's Day to the house. I cannot wait to show you. We're going to do a little tablescape,
add some wreaths and just really start to bring the joy of love into the house in a very subtle,
soft and easy way. I found these really cute heart ornaments at Michaels. They were on sale.
I think it was only three dollars for this entire thing and I thought it'd be fun to use
a little fishing wire and hang these from this little arrangement I have going on this table.
Now the one thing I will say is we actually have friends coming over for dinner tonight and I
thought it would be fun to sit at this table and let the kids sit at the other table in the other
room because like the TV is there. It's bigger space. You know they're running up and down the
stairs so we're going to set this table for dinner tonight and when people come over I will remove
this centerpiece and just put some candles here but just as that kind of wow moment when they come
in I want to definitely keep it this way so I'm going to tie these on. One thing I'm going to say
is down in the description box I will have all of my videos that I've done for Valentine's Day over
the years and there have been some very over the top Valentine's Day decor especially at the
Victorian so definitely check those out if you're looking for kind of all the different ideas for
decorating your house for Valentine's Day but for us I knew I was going to be having some friends
over specifically it's somebody it's one of our friends wedding anniversary so I was like oh this
is the perfect time to break out all of that beautiful Valentine's Day stuff and just bring
in the spirit of love which we're going to be talking about a little bit later in this video
but first let's get this decorated. Tell me in the comments down below tell all of us how are you
where are you at the first month of the year is over how did everything go I had so many great
comments from many of you over on my Instagram account and it was just really exciting to hear
some of your absolute highs and I'm just really really excited to be sharing the rest of this
year with you guys I feel like there's so much stuff to look forward to I cannot wait to share
with you but tell us in the comments how was your first month how are you doing and are you looking
forward to February it's supposed to be one of the most magnificent months in many many many years
so I can't wait to see what happens I just think this turns out so beautiful it reminded me of when
I hung all of those hearts in the front yard at the Victorian for the whole town to see and it
just brought back so much joy and love I love these slow moments where I can really just decorate and
be really intentional and in the moment and present and this provided so much of that for me
now it's time to decorate the table we're going to be decorating with all of my new kitchen
accessories from Quinn's which brings me to today's sponsor which you guys know you already know you
know you've been here Quinn's is the best I am a huge fan of Quinn's they have already made my
bedroom the most incredible place in this house and now it's time to do the same for my kitchen
as many of you know I'm starting this new year by decluttering some of my most treasured spots
around this house one of which is my kitchen now when I did inventory I took a look not only at
the items that I may not use all the time or don't really need anymore but also some of the
things that I have purchased on a couple other websites and or stores that just aren't good
quality to be around my family so today as we declutter deep clean and bring a new fresh energy
into this kitchen I am going to be adding in some of my favorite products from Quinn's I went with
some beautiful new glassware and stemware I really really love having a really well-made wine glass
especially since y'all know we're from Napa Valley and the other thing I really wanted to do
was change up all of my wooden spoons and things that I use while cooking I use them every single
day and the ones that I used to have the quality was not there what I love about Quinn's is they
find the most quality products at the most affordable prices they cut out the middleman
so you're not paying for that label one of the big takeaways that I found while I was cleaning
decluttering and looking at the list of things I had in here is the quality of the items I had in
here do not last and you guys know I like to buy nice items once and that's a lot harder when you
have some of these high-end brands but with Quinn's you get premium materials designed to
stay on the test of time their products are nicer last longer and from my experience of being a
two years their products are by far the most durable I have wanted that lag wheel set since
I was a little girl if you have been to a fine steakhouse you know you've seen that steak knife
it is one of the greatest and you can actually get it for such a great price over at Quinn's
join me today head over to Quinn's you can use this QR code here on the screen and enjoy 365
days of free shipping and returns on your orders I promise you won't because you will absolutely
love their products thank you to Quinn's for sponsoring today's video I will go ahead and
link all of these products down below if you are looking to shop some really beautiful high quality
items at a great affordable price now for tonight's dinner I wanted to keep this area a little more
subdued I didn't want to have those bright reds although we are going to do that for the kids
table I thought it'd be nice to have that really French clean beautiful kind of minimal look in
here and then kick it up a notch with that beautiful arrangement of hearts that we did
so I'm just going to be using some of the things I've had for a long time we're going to mix and
match a couple different glasses and things like that and just create a really lovely place to
enjoy some time with our friends since we're heading into Valentine's Day I always think
February reminds me so much of you know Valentine's Day romance and love and all of those things and
as many of you know those of you who are members of the undone community with the undone method
we look at things a little bit different and I feel like how where I personally am reframing
this month and you guys will see it in this month's reset is I'm finding this to be a quieter
kind of more truer sense of Valentine's Day as an invitation to kind of reflect on where love
is rooted and for me you know it's obviously you know rooted in my children love for my home love
for my body my interpersonal life love for my friends you guys all of that stuff and so I kind
of like have I wanted to say that Valentine's Day can oftentimes be a day to ask is my love
conditional or grounded is it performative or is it present is it seeking validation
or offering care and most importantly I feel like Valentine's Day is not a test of whether
you are loved or chosen or anything like that I remember back to when I was younger and like
if you didn't have a date on Valentine's Day it was like fuzzy socks a glass of wine tears and a
sad movie and popcorn but but now as I've gotten older I realize it is the complete opposite of
that and it's a testimony to my capacity to love and to belong not only in life but also within
myself and I feel like love was never meant to be proven with grand gestures and things like that
but meant to live quietly and consistently and truthfully within us and I want to challenge us
all this Valentine's to not seek that validation of am I chosen and be more joyful and tender with
ourselves and think of it more like love is something I practice and I'm going to start by
loving myself and really take the pressure off of the external validation that I find
Valentine's Day often puts on many people with the cards and the flowers and the chocolates and all
of that I think that those are all wonderful I think we all call them hallmark holidays but the
truth is it is a great moment to actually really genuinely take a look at what love means and how
do you love and who are you committed to who are you committed to caring for and for many of us I
know we talk a lot about this on the undone community is that I think we do so much of that
externally that we gravely forget to do that for ourselves and for me I've made home that place
that's a consistent reminder to not only love and nurture myself but also all of those that cross
the threshold of my home whether they're friends like today or whether they're family my children
my husband whoever how am I faithfully showing up for these people with love and commitment
and I think one of the most authentic and beautiful ways you can do that is not through things
but through authentically knowing yourself and showing up as yourself and letting people see and
love you for who you genuinely are and if you want to go back and take a look at the January Reset
we talk a little bit about that but the February Reset that just launched today is very specific
to self-belonging and a month of returning to yourself and I know for me I mean obviously you
know caring for five people for the last 16 years not only that caring for my mother when she was
sick and a lot of other family dynamics that were kind of thrust upon me in the last 16 years
it was very easy to get lost in that and caring and kind of living in that survival mode of making
sure everyone's okay and I don't know about you but I found that in that season of my life
I completely abandoned and never asked for anybody to come take my hand and say hey you're going to
be okay we got this I didn't really leave space for that so anyway that self-abandonment is very
real for me and has been something that I have had to spend time working on and being open and
honest about so the February Reset has all of that kind of kind of shines a little bright light
on those ideas of self-belonging and those ideas of emotional safety and interconnection which I
think is one of the best things to understand prior to dropping into a relationship showing
up with love and those types of things so I highly recommend checking that out if you haven't already
I'm very much looking forward to the work we're going to do this month because it has already
opened my eyes I've already written the Reset books for the year I launched them the day of so
I've already done this one and my gosh I have to tell you I have changed in a profound way just in
the February Reset book itself like it has really changed the way I look at life I look at myself
how I show up and I really challenge all of you to take a look at it those of you who are members
if you aren't there'll be a link down below for you to join but I'm very excited so I would say
while you're decorating for Valentine's Day think about how you are loving yourself how you are
showing up for yourself and how that is going to spill and cascade into the realities of people
around you that you love if you find yourself being uptight angry you know if you are a target
Karen that's just out there getting angry girl you got to fix that that's not about them that's
about you so I highly recommend there is a little bit of that in all of us and until it you know is
discovered and worked through it's always going to remain there and I will tell you for many of you
who have dealt with grief that is when I realized what a problem that was because
when grief happened when I lost my mother I didn't have the foundations to hold myself
I didn't have the foundations to be okay I didn't know what to do so I pushed that grief aside and
it came out in the ugliest way possible so I think part of this cathartic exercise for me
of sharing with you guys is I don't ever want that to happen to you so I would highly recommend
checking it out let's find a happier more joyful cadence of life and spill that into the world
around us instead of holding it all in and feeling that sense of needing others to validate
to provide all of that you don't need any of that you have it all within you so I definitely want
you to check that out because it has been transformative for me and even as I was
decorating the house I just kept thinking like over the years I think I over decorated to kind
of create that like literal expression of love when now I'm like oh my gosh that's the complete
opposite of how I love my children how I love my husband how I love my friends how I exist in this
world is not all the flashy shiny decor even though we do love that but it's so much deeper
so much more meaningful so much more about love and acceptance not only of myself
but of those that I have in my life even those that are I struggle around having compassion
for them because I see my own flaws in some of those places is such a powerful thing so I invite
you all to love yourself deeper this Valentine's Day maybe take a girl's day and go get a massage
do something good for you
never thought it'd be easy to feel you in my arms but now we're here and I'm all in
and I want it by you because I can stay till the morning stay till the dawn but just hold me now
want to be so much better I want to say something clever to get in your mind
because right now we're not together and I lose my way then oh I feel so much better
whenever you're around whenever you're around yeah yeah whenever you're around okay guys I'm
now that I'm done putting a couple little touches up for Valentine's Day and for tonight's dinner
I think this looks very cute this is where the kids are actually going to sit the adults are
going to sit at the other table it's just easier to separate that way they can play in here and do
whatever and I just think it turned out very sweet um I'm very pleased so the these little
wreaths and things I think look really really sweet up here I wanted to do those actually
cascading on the front door but I have something better for the front porch you'll have to come
back and see that I do have a lot more decorating to do I have some really fun DIY projects I'm
going to share with you some of the ways that I make Valentine's Day special for all the people
I love in my life but thank you so much for joining me today I'm very happy with how everything turned
out and don't forget to check out all the things I picked up from Quinn's this has been so nice to
be able to get things I can use for a long period of time that are very high quality and that are
absolutely beautiful and well made and super affordable okay that is it for today's video
go out and do something really really special for yourself today please I love you all and
I'll see you in the next video real soon bye
