Chipping Distance Control Drill

Okay, well I call this drill the tee on the green drill.
What we want to try and do is pick a spot where we want to land the ball on the green,
probably about a yard or so onto the green.
We don't want to go too close to the edge here because you might get a funky bounce.
It's a little bit soft sometimes there, so we were looking for a nice
consistent hard part of the green where it's going to get a good bounce.
We also want to allow for a little bit of break, so
having a quick look at this, it looks like it's going to go a little bit right to left.
So the key to this drill,
and the reason for this drill is to narrow your focus.
So instead of just wondering where you're going to land it, pick a spot.
We've got a short intermediate target here.
So all I'm concentrating on is trying to hit that tee, and that worked out pretty good.
So the idea with this, by narrowing that focus, you can still miss this target here
by quite a big area and the ball will end up still okay.
So once again, the main key, I've already taught you in the other videos
how to hit the basic type of chip shot.
You should know by now which club you're going to use,
and the whole idea is just to stand here and narrow the focus,
and they're all going to end up pretty much a tap-in.
