When we got Cubby, he was so young. He's got health issues and things that we would
have to worry about because of his dwarfism. There's so much you can do with his neck.
Tubble up. Tub's a million. Oh, he's got the worst underbite I've ever seen.
He was a very lethargic little horse. He had no energy. We were quarantining him in the garage
in a stall, and so the first thought was, you know what, let's see if we can get something
really big and bulky that he can snuggle up with. We tried putting a big teddy bear in there for
comfort. It was very short-lived because it wasn't long after that we would bring him in
so he wasn't getting too cold, and I think that was the game changer.
He started to, I think, not feel so alone, and we started to see a little bit of a change in
his attitude, and his eyes started to seem brighter. Within a week, when he was walking
around just while I was sitting on our front steps, and he kind of got a little burst of energy,
and I was like, oh my gosh, there is no way you just did that. There's no way, little man.
From that point on, we started to see growth in Tubby, and he started to thrive.
Literally like a spring flower, he just started to bloom, and he just started to open up.
All right, little bits, let's go home. Let's go home. He's very contagious, and he makes the others play.
Come on, Tubby. He just pops up in the air, kind of like a little popcorn ball.
He is as sweet as can be, but he's the first one to take your shirt to his mouth.
Off you go. So we do kind of refer to him as our little land shark because
nothing is off limits to Tubby. He will always be a special needs horse.
They're small, and they can be perceived as being so cute, and to that we really strongly
advocate that these horses are special, and they stay out of the wrong hands.
What are you doing?
Handsome, come here. What did he do?
