BACKROOM VIBES - SECRET vintage mini mall - La Place - Beachwood, Ohio
Hey guys. I’m at La Place at Beachwood Place in Beachwood, Ohio! This mall is small, but multilevel with some nice aesthetics to it. Many people know of Beachwood Place, an upscale bustling shopping destination east of Cleveland - arguable the most happening, luxurious mall in the metro area, which opened in 1978. But few know about this little mall that it overshadowed. You see La Place was here first, and it still stands as a little hidden gem that somewhat bustles for what it is. It is lowkey, but the Mitchell’s ice cream, container store, Ho Wah Chinese restaurant, and Nervous Dog brought in people, gathering and laughter! There are office spaces being leased by attorneys and other businesses upstairs which helps. The mall had to have been redone in the late 80s/ early 1990s because I don’t get 1969 vibes from it; in addition some of the ceiling shows wear, but the elevator was so awesome, the floor and the beautiful ceilings, as well as the second floor offices gave this place a really sleek upscale look. It commands respect as well as has interesting back rooms you can explore. It’s a mall lovers dream. Thanks to The Mighty Met for the suggestion!
