Helicopters & Ground Crew Fight Brush Fire, Valencia, CA, May 2021 #losangelescountyfiredepartment

Two Sikorsky S70 firefighting helicopters, N120LA and N160LA, made repeated water drops from very low altitude in an effort to extinguish stubborn pockets of fire that were less accessible to firefighters on the ground. L.A. County Fire set up a water filling station for the helicopters a few hundred meters from the blaze which resulted in a water drop from each helicopter every few minutes. The LA County firefighters in the air and on the ground, through their coordinated efforts, were ultimately successful at putting out the fire before it got really dark. Amazing teamwork that kept the fire from spreading and potentially threatening nearby homes. Many thanks. 👏
