Passing by Home Three Times Without Entering
During Emperor Yao's reign, relentless and boundless floods engulfed the land, surrounding mountains and submerging hills, causing great distress among the people. In response, Emperor Yao appointed Gun to manage flood control. However, after nine long years, the floods persisted, leaving the people still trapped in water. Gun's strategy involved blocking the water, which drained resources and exhausted the people, ultimately proving ineffective. By this time, Emperor Yao had already abdicated the throne to Emperor Shun. Confronted with Gun's failures and the people’s suffering, Emperor Shun decided to punish Gun, exiling him to Mount Yu, where he eventually died.
