Hello everyone! Welcome to a new video of mine and today I will share with you what the perfect
slow winter day in the French Riviera looks like. And nothing better to start such a sunny day
than with a visit to the flower market in the heart of Nice's old town. At this time of the
There are not too many people around, especially on weekdays. In the summer,
the market gets crowded with tourists, but there are more stalls with vendors. Still,
in winter, you will always find a little bit of everything, from flowers to fruits, vegetables
and souvenirs. Next up, I really recommend visiting Aize. In the winter, this hilltop
village is super quiet, with just a few visitors, which makes wandering through its cobbled streets
even more magical. While it isn't the most flowery in winter, the fact that the weather
is quite mild here means that there will always be a pop of color here and there.
At this time of the year, the hotels and the stores in the village are pretty much all closed,
but you can still visit the exotic garden for the best views all around. Today I'm not going up there,
but I have an older video on my channel that shows the garden and the beautiful views it has.
If you get down from Aize to Villefranche-sur-Mer, you can go for the perfect lunch spot by the water
at Le Maïssa. There is only one such table, and it is best to book a few days ahead of time,
at least, but on a sunny winter day, the views are absolutely fantastic and the food pairs just
as perfectly. For the afternoon, I recommend driving to Antibes and visiting this beautiful
old city, which inspired many famous painters and most notably, Picasso. On Saturdays, you can also
make a first stop at Villa Elan Roque, a beautiful neoclassical villa from the 19th century,
right by the water in the famous and luxurious Cap d'Antibes,
surrounded by a beautiful park and garden.
Then, as you visit Antibes' old town, make sure to walk along the waterfront promenade
for the most beautiful views of the town's silhouette against the snowy peaks of the Alps
in the distance before venturing into its narrow alleyways. Antibes is one of my favorite towns
in the Côte d'Azur, one that I visit quite often. There is always so much life here,
in both winter and summer, without ever feeling party-like. I love its markets, its stores,
eating on the restaurant's terraces carried around its pedestrian center,
and its whole vibe is just on point to end the perfect winter day on the French Riviera.
I hope this video can inspire you to visit the French Riviera, regardless of the season.
