Instagram, YouTube Youth Addiction Case Goes to Trial in Los Angeles

Jury selection began at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in the first major case accusing Meta’s Instagram and Google’s YouTube of using addictive design features that could harm children and teens’ mental health. Initially, four social media companies were named in the lawsuit, but on Jan. 27, NTD learned that TikTok settled late Monday night and Snapchat reached a settlement with the plaintiff last week.
