It grows in loess soil but is snow-white in color, and is both a crunchy fruit and a sweet vegetable.

When I was a child, I really liked sweet potatoes, which we called "khoai lang" (sweet potato) locally because we lived in a mountainous area where transportation was inconvenient and there weren't many fruits available. Luckily, every household grew sweet potatoes.
