Our real advantage is having someone who can work around the clock—and who in effect allows us to relieve our colleagues I'm Tom Hartmans project leader at GLS This is indeed a first step toward automation within our group You know of course that the industry doesn't stand still and that there are constant developments And we're trying as one of the largest players in the market to see how innovations like this can help us o make daily tasks a bit easier and ultimately more cost-effective This may ultimately allow us to offer our services at a slightly lower cost again Actually there's just one thing you need to do for Rosie—feed her So we have mini-parcels which is one of the parcel streams we offer They arrive here at the hub from all over the country and actually from across Europe The mini-parcels are then fed into Rosie via a large hopper And then the packages are placed onto the conveyor belt And then they are fed directly into the mini-sorts The collaboration went superbly well Everything was actually aligned with our requirements and preferences so that Rosie actually fits in very well within our company I'm absolutely proud of what's written here Of course the first results are now available And people are also absolutely delighted with her They could just feed the packages into Rosie and in truth they hardly even notice them anymore
