Neo Broke His Foot!!!
Last week we were on a family vacation in Maui Hawaii, and our kids wanted to go to a trampoline park. At the trampoline park our son Neo jumped and injured his foot really badly. We are not sure if it is broken or sprained so we are going to the hospital to get X rays to see what happened. His foot is really swollen and he can barely walk. We are very worried about him and hope for the best!
Guys, Neil seriously got injured.
Yesterday was our last day in Hawaii
and the kids really wanted to go
to this trampoline park they had there.
At the trampoline park, they have this ledge
that you could jump off of and land on this soft platform.
And they were doing it a whole bunch of times.
But of course, the last time before we left,
we said, all right guys, one more time.
Last time, he jumps off and then you see extreme in his face.
Crystal ran to go grab him because Crystal was next to him.
I was checking his foot, checking his knee.
I was scared that he, I don't know,
broke his knee or something.
I didn't know what happened.
We took him to an urgent care in Hawaii
and they told us they weren't able to take him.
And our flight was about to leave.
So then we went to the airport and we started noticing
that it was his foot that was injured
because his foot got super swollen
and he couldn't put any pressure on it.
He's constantly trying to walk.
He doesn't understand that he can't walk.
Honestly, I'm super tired.
Our flight landed this morning at 5.30 in the morning.
I got no sleep at night because on the airplane,
I was holding him and keeping his foot elevated.
He slept in my arms the whole ride on the airplane.
We have an appointment to go take him
to the doctor to get x-rays.
I'm hoping it's not broken.
But right now, since we just got back,
I came over here
because we got to pick up the dogs really quick.
They stayed at a doggy hotel,
so they're going to freak out
because they haven't seen me in like a week.
Just picked up these crazy dogs.
Zico and, hi Zico.
Now it's time to head home.
Oh my God.
Today is going to be such a hard day.
I'm so tired.
So we just picked up Neo.
It's now time to take this pupush to get an x-ray
for his foot.
Can't really see it, but let's see.
That's the wrong foot, babe.
Oh yeah.
So true, yeah.
All right, Neo, Neo, Neo.
He's getting better at walking though.
He's learning how to like take the weight off.
Come Neo.
You want to come up with that?
You're coming along?
Yeah.
All right, let's go, girl.
You got to listen to the doctor instructions, okay?
Okay.
You got to take care of him, whatever the doctor says.
Okay.
I have this like stronger arm.
He's crazy.
Neo, are you ready?
Go sit.
Oh, here we go.
He's like, ooh, you look good.
So Neo has an obsession with Haxley.
And he goes, ooh, I look good.
This is not Neo's first time getting x-rays, is it?
Where are those x-rays?
That was MRI.
MRI and CT scan.
So he never got an x-ray.
No, he didn't.
This is your first x-ray?
Abel, do you have any tips?
I think he's going to think that is like a picture.
Tick, tick.
Yeah, babe.
You think so?
Yeah.
Well, good thing you came because you're like a pro.
Are you excited for the x-ray?
No.
No?
I'm sad.
Okay, Neil, are you ready?
Let's check out your foot, see if you have a bruise still.
Take this one off.
What's right here?
I think what I felt is that we iced it.
Let me see.
Neo, does this hurt?
Is it, ouch.
Ouch.
You see this?
Yeah.
It comes out.
It doesn't come out.
Like, look on this one.
No, but it doesn't hurt him when I press it.
I know, but that's not normal.
Aw.
Wow.
31 pounds.
Good job, Neil.
Good job, baby.
So, everybody is tired here except for Popo.
Because he got a very good night's sleep.
Well, I'm not tired.
You're not tired either?
Yeah, you got a good night's sleep too.
Oh, he likes us talking.
Oh no, oh no.
Wow.
All right, guys.
So, we're gonna do a poll and see who wins.
Who thinks that Neil has a broken foot or a sprained foot?
I think sprained.
What do you think, Mommy?
I think he has a sprained foot with a ligament.
Okay, me too, I think Mommy.
I think there's gotta be something
because it's not normal.
Do you think there's a fracture?
There may be a small fracture.
He likes to run around, but he's not running around.
Yeah, it's probably because his foot hurts.
I'm actually more scared for like,
something that's like, torn, like.
Me too, me too.
I think you guys agree with Mommy
because you're matching pants.
Well, Neil agrees with me
and he thinks that he's gonna be all right.
You guys are just big old babies.
He does not have a fracture.
You don't think so?
No.
Yeah, he does not.
If he had a fracture, he would not.
Although, Neil's the kind of kid where like,
we've seen him like, go through like, crazy stuff
and he just like, doesn't.
He has like, a high tolerance for pain.
Yeah, for pain, yeah.
So, I wouldn't, actually, no, I wouldn't be shocked.
I wouldn't be shocked if his whole foot's broken
and he just says to walk in at all.
So, the doctor just came in and ordered some x-rays.
So, now we're gonna take x-rays
and he's a little bit concerned by his whole leg now.
Like, the tibula and fibula, I think.
So, we gotta check on the tibula, fibula, and foot.
See if his foot's okay.
Mommy with the entertainment.
Hello, I am his fluffy hand.
Who wants to give me a high five?
Lucky.
High five for you.
Blow.
Can you say blow?
Blow, blow.
Say, blue.
It's bruised right here and it's like, bad.
Look at it.
Now, here you can see it.
Look, you see this dip?
And then, look at this.
Oh, yeah.
I don't think it hurts him.
Mama, can you just try the thumb?
Oh, yeah, it does.
It hurts him when you go up here.
Ooh, ooh, ooh.
All right, so this hurts him, right.
That one's not gonna hurt, Nia.
And yesterday, it was more swollen with the ice on it.
So, I don't know.
I don't know what to do with it.
You okay, buddy?
Yeah, I'm okay.
So, while Nio gets an x-ray,
Abella is such an amazing sister.
And I drew this for Nio.
It's very cute.
Is that like a little cask?
I see a heart.
Oh, my goodness, you're so sweet.
I'm actually pretty nervous
because I don't know what is gonna happen.
I don't know what school's gonna look like.
Like, what that's,
I'm probably gonna have to go to school with him
or dad's gonna have to go to school with him.
So, it's gonna be really interesting.
And we have no help.
So, it's a little bit challenging.
I have help from drawing you a picture.
Aw, you're the best.
Me and Nio are now waiting for his x-rays.
Oh, my.
He is in good spirits, so he just doesn't like to walk.
Nio, they're gonna take a picture.
So, he is five.
It's five fingers.
So, we just came to the doctor
and apparently he's feeling much better now.
He's walking on his foot, kind of.
Nio.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
Nio, oh.
Hey, you have to sit down.
Your foot is, ouch.
Look, we can put it like this.
Sit down.
Hey, sit down.
Sit down.
Yeah.
Ready?
Set.
Go.
Oh.
Wow, Nio, look, you're gonna do the x-ray.
X-ray.
Good job.
Hold it there, okay, Nio?
Hold it there.
Good job.
Good job, Nio.
You're doing so good at taking pictures.
You have to wait, okay, Nio?
Good job.
High five.
Yeah.
We're gonna tell Mama you did a good job.
Look, Mama's inside here.
Surprise, Nio.
What?
Wow, look, Nio.
Nio, look.
Nio, look what they did for you.
What is that, Nio?
Cat.
It's a cat.
Meow, meow.
It's a dog.
Nio, what's that?
It says Nio Jules for this.
I love you, Nio.
Feel better.
Did you make this?
Yeah.
Aw, you're so cute.
Nio, say thank you.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
I think it's just sprained.
I think it's sprained, yeah.
There's no broken bones, so that's fabulous.
So we're just gonna, we can put a little ace wrap
if you think you'll tolerate that.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
All right, so we got some good news.
Nio does not have any broken bones.
He may have some kind of ligament damage
or a sprain.
They're not really sure,
but they said after four or five days
if he's still not walking correctly
and if it's still in a lot of pain,
we should bring him back.
So we will keep you guys updated on Nio's foot,
but as of right now, no broken bones for sure.
High five, Nio.
You got strong bones.
Come on, little boy.
Let's see how you walk with a sprained foot.
Oh, you're doing, he is doing better.
He's like, look, can't handle it.
Oh, that's how he's walking?
Yep.
Look at that.
Wow.
Oh, he's twirling.
Good job, Nio.
Cool.
Say bye, Dr. Nio.
All right, guys.
So today is the next day after Nio got confirmed
that he does not have a broken foot
and they set the checkup on him
and make sure that it's not getting worse
and it's only getting better.
And so far, look how much better he's walking.
Come on, Nio.
Come.
Oh, yeah.
Good job.
Oh, yeah.
High five.
Oh, yeah.
So he is pretty much, you know, doing his thing.
He went to school today.
He is doing fantastic right now.
All right, guys.
So it's been about a week since we went to check up on Nio.
The doctor told us to keep track
to make sure if his foot's getting worse or not
because if it was getting worse,
we have to go back and do an MRI.
But my boy is recovering.
Nio, you want to show him how good we are?
Show him how you walk.
Yeah.
Still has a little bit of a limp, but he's pretty good.
Can you jump?
Yeah, it doesn't hurt.
It's not ouch.
It's good.
Can I have a besito for Dada?
He gives the best besitos.
That is it for today, KFM.
I'm happy that Nio is feeling a lot better.
He's running around Lakota.
He is doing great.
