The Best Street Food in Oaxaca, Mexico – Tacos, Tlayudas, Elotes & Esquites

Join us on a food tour of Oaxaca! We explore the local markets and try all of the city’s best street food, from Tacos del Carmen, to elotes, esquites, and tlayudas. We visit the famous Pasillo de Humo (Smoke Alley) where grilled meat fills the air with smoke, we have ice cream at Nieves Oaxaqueñas Chagüita, we taste roasted chapulines (grasshoppers), and we try the famous tetelas (triangular taco pockets) at Itanoní. Finally, we end with a meal at Alfonsina, about a half-hour drive outside of the city center where chef Jorge Leon and his mom are serving a seasonal tasting menu in their humble home kitchen. There’s so much delicious food in Oaxaca – this city is definitely worth a visit when in Mexico.
