Finally had a reason to ride the YZ after a Month or more. I really enjoyed discovering the benefits of that GYTR parts! #gytr #yamaha #yz250x #yz250 #yz450f #yzfamily #yz250f #yz250fx #yz450fx
So I just learned the stock KTM flywheel weights 850 ounces and the stock YZ flywheel weights 550.
So since that's the case I was thinking about why not trying a Yamaha 814 ounces flywheel what
they offer from factory to see if we can have more torque which probably we are.
So on the left we have the stock what came up from the bike and on the right we have the one
which is has a heavier weight. As far as the installation goes it's a pretty straightforward
process. If you have the right tools you should have no problem installing this.
That should do. What a satisfying feeling. So we're gonna try out the heavier flywheel.
See what changed and since the flywheel really helps on the technical trails then we're gonna
try it. I only have my KTM on this track. I never put the YZ over here before.
I'm kind of all over on the place with this bike. I feel the front is way too heavy
over here. It's really hard to maneuver compared to the KTM. That's not the topic over here.
Definitely not KTM. I keep telling you how awkward the front feels.
It runs so good. So lovely.
Let's take a look at the open area and see how it performs over there.
It does not rev like it did before. I lost that excitement factor a little bit.
It's not really noticeable but I can feel it.
So
but it just feels weird. I mean this bike as soon as I start revving this bike
has always made me enjoying it but this time it's just not there. I mean there's nothing wrong with
it and it's not that noticeable but it's definitely there and it kind of bothers me because it just
goes up to the rpm and stays there. So what I mean by this is a rev monster before but now
it's not so much. Yeah I don't know. Probably good for those guys who
who's not revving it like I do or those guys who just wanna look. That's what it's for.
That was pretty much no gas and the bike just moved. So that's what you know if you are
if you need this the torque then you definitely want to consider to have this but if you just
want to go all out flying like crazy that's not for you. That's for sure.
So if I ever consider to taking this bike up to the mountains I'm probably gonna have it
but if I keep it over here like most of the time then I'm just gonna put the stock one back.
I don't know.
The way I see it if this is such a good upgrade and Yamaha has this option available
if it's such a good why they are not putting it on from the factory you know.
I'll leave it like that to to give it a more try you know experience it more maybe
maybe I'm missing something I don't know but I'm probably just gonna leave it like that
for now and keep discovering it how good it gets. I mean it's not bad I'm not saying it's bad
you you're really talking about like 80% and 85% so it's like not much of a difference but it's
there but anyway I'm just gonna go back and keep hammering the track with it see how it feels.
So a little update since the weather is not that hot I made the bike a little bit leaner I turned
the click and turned the click on the smart card like two down made it leaner and actually the
bike is kind of close to the way it was before still not that still not there but I can say
almost so so I'm pretty sure if you do these mods you can only benefit from it for sure
because if you have your bike set up right then you're gaining a lot of torque and the engine
runs way better than it was before so it's definitely something I recommend to do
buying the factory kit. I'm going to show you a little bit
so easy to take off with the bike right now
see there it is
that's what I was looking for
that snappiness
oh
pull me out
but now I don't need to
you see the front is coming behind the rear that's what I like
so
all right I'm going to let you guys go and I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing
That's what I like, this one is the best.
