Cold last night. Oh my solar just got ice on it.
Things are frozen this morning. The sun is just peeking over the mountains over there
and just hitting the crest on that one there too. What a beautiful morning. Hey Krizy,
where are you going buddy? Wow. Okay bud, I'm ready to go. It's cold outside here this morning.
Good morning from Vancouver Island. We spent the night out here last night in an amazing little
spot. Super quiet. Didn't hear anything whatsoever. Not even a single animal cruising around. Maybe
there was one. Krizy, don't go hunting for animals bro. We got bears up in these hills Krizy bear.
He's like it's okay, I'm a bear. Let's go, let's go, let's go. It's cold Krizy, let's go.
This is awesome. All the frost and stuff on here. That is totally cool.
Holy, look at the color of that water. Look how clear that water is.
When we were traveling on the east coast, a lot of the creeks and the rivers and stuff we were seeing
were like a tear coffee colored water and I really missed that above the west coast.
All summer long was that. Super clean water. Amazing. All right, I want that sun to pop up
a little bit more so we can warm up a little bit. It's chilly out there. Oh, seatbelt bro, seatbelt.
A little sprinter out here from Ontario. There is a big waterfall over there.
You can see that right there. If I wasn't on a huge hill, I would totally stop.
There guys, that's pretty. A lot of loose rocks on this trail.
Such good times. No better way to wake up in the morning than a nice backcountry drive.
Get the brain all fired up. Holy crap, that was so worth it.
Good morning Vancouver Island. Oh damn, that's the ocean out there. Right there, that's the ocean.
Can we zoom in? Amazing. I will happily wake up every single morning
this way. The brain's firing right. Beautiful. So do we trust driving over that little baby
wood bridge with an 8,000 pound van? Do we do it? I don't know about this. Should we do it?
Even he's unsure. Let's go. Oh, get it. What a nice warm day. This would be a great little spot,
but I wouldn't mind stealing like a little bit of sunshine today. We're just doing our rounds.
Picking up firewood baby. Thank you. Oh, this would be a nice spot to drop my shower thing
in there. Have a nice warm shower. I'm not sure how much sunshine we got left, but I'd like to go
find a little bit of it. All sorts of goodies here. I'll take all this stuff. If I keep driving,
I'm going to miss all the sunshine. The map shows that there's a road coming up here.
I'm hoping that takes us onto the ridge over there on the other side.
The problem with the winters here is the sun comes up there and goes down over there. That's
like literally comes up boop and down there. It may crest at around 730 in the morning and it's
gone by like two o'clock behind that mountain. I thought for sure we'd have a little bit of
sunshine up in here, but it's already gone behind the mountain already. Picking up little pieces of
firewood all over the place. This stuff might be all like, oh, it's grody. There's some water over
here. I wonder if it's pooling enough that I can, uh, have a shower. That'd be awesome.
Sounds like it's just like a little trickle though. Nah, just a little trickle. I wonder,
I wonder if we could drop it right there, maybe block it off a little bit, let it pool.
We could probably drop it right in there. There's lots of little spots we could do it in here.
Yeah, right there would be perfect. I'm losing a bunch of heat. It's really chilly out here today.
It was like minus, minus five or something like that this morning.
And, uh, as the sun goes behind that mountain there, the temperature is sure dropping.
And this fire reflector does one heck of a job at containing the heat in one direction at me.
Are you happy now? Are you happy? You got the whole thing to yourself now? Are you happy?
Oh, you want to play, huh? Who puts you in a playful mood? Hey, what happened, bro? What
happened, bro? You're funny, Mr. Cruzy. Let's go. That just fired up. That's kicking on.
Let's get hot, baby. Let's get hot. Oh, we got steam, baby.
This is the craziest thing. Never in my life have I ever had a shower with this kind of a view.
If I, if I had this Juleka hot tap shower when I first started my van life,
it would have changed everything from the beginning. Oh, this is so good. It's probably,
it's probably minus two degrees Celsius out here. That tiny little bit of water was perfect.
Oh my gosh. I just showered in ditch water. It's getting cold now. If you guys ever buy one of
these, always keep all the little different attachments for it. Like if you think you're
going to permanently mount this because they make a permanent mount for it. Oh, this bottle's
freezing. Always keep these bases because moments like this happen where it'd be nice to just take
this out somewhere. If you keep all the little things that it comes with it. Oh, water dripping
on my tabletop. Yeah. Today was awesome to be able to walk this up the trail a bit and set up
shower elsewhere. That's nice. Come on, sir. You look very cute. What do you want, buddy?
Hey, you've been a good boy today, crazy. Good boy. Putting the towel here. That way the,
the heater can blow heat upwards. So what I do in this scenario is I turn this
so it's blowing straight at it. It's definitely this kind of day.
I got the heater in the van running. I got the van running just to kind of heat the van up super
fast. I left all the doors open when I was outside and it's super cold in here. Onesie time. Are you
mad at me? Hey, did daddy put stuff on your nose? Hey, don't put stuff on your nose. You don't like
it do you? Not one bit. So I got the front of my van positioned on the side of the road here so I
can see the entrance road at the bottom down there. So if somebody does happen to pull in,
I got a straight shot view of down there as well. Tonight I'll open up my side window here too. So
if someone does pass by me, I have a clear view of the side of the road. I always like to do that
either when I'm out here. I like to back into an area where I can drive out instead of being
stuck nose in and having to back out in case of emergency. So I always like to poke my nose
outwards of any camp spot or like where I am here on the trail where there's two ways on the main
road because we're parked right on the side of the road. I have the entrance of the road just
down there which makes me feel good to know that if something you know were to come up the trail
I'd have a heads up especially well if I'm sleeping I'm not gonna have a heads up but
right now if somebody were to come in I definitely see the headlights of the of the road down there
from inside my van here. That way gives me a heads up that somebody is coming through.
This onesie is darn epic. Nothing has ever happened out here. I've never been in a situation
where I felt in danger or I felt uneasy or even a situation where my heartbeat started to go
because I'm like okay what was that. I've never had any of those scenarios whatsoever out here
in the backcountry and I've been playing around in the bush out here for about three years now
more in the last two years but but yeah it's been pretty great. Everybody I run into out here on the
trail they always give me a nod and a wave. I've never run into any disgruntled people out here
usually they're just other campers or hunters or just people out here for a nice stroll on
their quads for the day with the family or they're out here on their side by sides
or four by fouring. Everybody's usually pretty decent out here but for me just because of the
person who I am peace of mind says hey let's have a good clear view of everything that way when I'm
curled up in bed at night I know I have a straight shot that way and if I hear a vehicle I can see
out my side window. I don't know just things like that just keep my mind calm for those just in case
moments. Fingers crossed a just in case moment doesn't happen and for those that are going to
ask what do I have for safety and security in here I have me. I also have an axe mounted to
my door a knife over there I got my kitchen right here so I have access to a fork. I'm not going to
fork somebody maybe oh my gosh oh anyway guys gonna let you go I really enjoyed just driving
around today and sitting by the fire and having this Starlink is a game changer for me so tonight
I plan on making myself a a hot chocolate opening up my laptop and hopefully getting this close to
releasing some brand new merch this close guys this close um I'm really excited with the new
merch we're actually doing sleeve prints on the new stuff whoo it's gonna be awesome anyway y'all
take care of yourself and I'm gonna go live in my van in the backcountry with all the internet and
connection luxuries of being back in the city but doing it way out here oh this is like a dream come
true 100 percent no and something else I did I don't know you're gonna laugh at me about it
I got my wi-fi calling set up on my phone so now I can phone and text if the Starlink is up
just like I was back in cell service
what I just did it the other day and it's pretty cool so yeah my phone just rings whenever people
call my phone just text whenever people text setting up wi-fi calling and texting on your
phone was downright awesome why didn't I do it sooner you know people if you guys were in my
comments there for the longest time going bro there's a thing out there called wi-fi calling
get with it it's 2023 I hear you and I did it I feel like I'm in such an advancement mode
getting with the times finally thanks for riding along you guys we'll see you
