Chris Evans and his wife Alba Baptista have welcomed their first child together. Just weeks after celebrating their second wedding anniversary, the Portuguese actress 28 gave birth to a baby girl named Alma Grace at 1.27 p.m. in Massachusetts on Saturday. According to the birth certificate obtained by News, the couple gave their daughter both of their last names. The News has reached out to Evans' representative but has not heard back. While Evans has been seen at movie premieres and events in recent months, Baptista has remained largely out of the public eye. Rumors of her pregnancy first surfaced in July after Evans' father-in-law, Luis Baptista, hinted at it on social media. Commenting on a fan-made Father's Day tribute honoring both Alba's and Evans' dads, he wrote, Chris, your turn is coming. In November 2024, Evans confirmed to Access Hollywood that he would absolutely love to become a dad. Yeah, I hope so, he told the outlet. The title of dad is an exciting one. The actor was first romantically linked to the Portuguese actress in 2021, though they never publicly announced their engagement. I proposed to my wife in Portuguese, he told The Knot in June. She's Portuguese, so I learned how to say will you marry me in Portuguese. I had practiced it all week. Evans said he kept practicing what he would say in her native language and almost ruined the surprise. I had practiced it so much that while I'd be making breakfast and you almost just start saying it out loud, he recalled. Like, oh God, that's not just a song that's stuck in my head. It's gonna let the cat out of the bag. Fortunately, he didn't spoil the surprise. I got really nervous when it came time to do it, he said. I actually think I screwed it up, but I still know it. The couple, who share a 16-year age gap, were first romantically linked in 2021, but only publicly debuted their relationship nearly two years later. In October 2023, one month after getting married, Evans opened up about their wedding at New York Comic Con. It was really, really great.
