Hello watch lovers, today we have a Longines pocket watch on the bench, with a piece of technology inside it that led to the downfall of the mighty British watchmaking industry in the 18th and 19th century.

The British invented most of the technical solutions we are familiar with in today's watches, and British watches were the pinnacle of both timekeeping and quiet luxury. But they relied too much on perfecting old ways rather than use new technology and production processes.
