China vs GB: Zeekr 009 vs Rolls-Royce Cullinan Mansory drag race! V12 vs EV

G'day, I'm Paul. I'm sitting in the Zika 009. That right next to me is a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, like the ultimate luxury SUV, except that one has a Mansory body kit and an exhaust on it as well. Before I run you through this, Elvis, tell me about your Cadbury-coloured Rolls-Royce over there. Mate, this is the pinnacle of motoring. It's a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 with over 400 kilowatts and 900 newton-metres of torque, or thereabout. This is a bloody fast car, and I reckon you haven't got a chance in hell in your Chinese people-mover. So, just to paint this into perspective, this is fully electric. It has two electric motors, one on the front axle, one on the rear axle, over 100 kilowatt-hours of battery capacity, but for the Australian market, this has over 400 kilowatts of power and around 700 newton-metres of torque, but importantly, it weighs more than that. That is a heavy car, but this weighs about roughly 500 kilos more, so this is going to be close. I don't think so, man. I think I'll be getting my coffee before you finish the line there. Okay, so what we're going to be doing is we're going to do a drag race down the quarter-mile. We'll then do a roll race, and then at the end, I'm just going to be quiet so you can listen to this going across the quarter-mile and that as well and see the exact numbers. Big shout-out as well to our mate, Lawrence, who has helped us with these drag races, loaning us some of his amazing cars, so we really appreciate that. But I think I'm ready, let's do this. All right, let me now take you down in the roll race because I reckon that's where the real race is going to be. Okay, so roll race time. What we're going to do here is accelerate up to around 50 kilometers an hour and cameraman Igor over there is going to drop his hat. As soon as he drops his hat, we're going to mash the throttle. He doesn't have any manual gear selection, so now that's going to go for him, but he's going to have it in low mode. Low mode is, Rolls-Royce speak, the sport of the cross country, perhaps. Okay, here we go. It should be interesting. As long as he gets a good go in his gear, it should be okay, but this is electric, so it's instant response. Oh, that is... I actually almost feel bad for him. Yes. No. Yes. No. Come on. Ah, come on. It's just pulling away, actually. That is savage. That is savage. You know what, Elbours? Just because I feel sorry for the British and having their expensive SUV dethroned, what if we go back and I do this in comfort mode? You have a comfort mode and a sport mode and a people mover? Okay, so I've turned kickdown mode off, so basically while in comfort here when I mash the throttle, it should stay in comfort mode and give him the best chance of not being a loser. All right, here we go. He's in a slow mode now, which should give me a slightly better chance. I'm in the, I have to win or I'll never be forgiven mode. Looking for the hat. Oh, that's closer. That's closer. Oh, yes. Come on. Oh, my God. How is he still winning in comfort mode? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Come on. God damn it. Oh, my God. That thing is really quick. Hey, like it weighs more and I have a twin turbo V12. That, my friends, is a comfortable win in comfort mode. Now, this is where I'm going to throw to the part where I'm just going to be quiet and you get to hear what these cars sound like accelerating down the quarter mile. Okay, so that was so much fun. I genuinely did not think a three ton people mover would be quicker than a twin turbocharged Rolls Royce with a Mansory body kit and a Mansory exhaust. It is just, it is absolutely crazy.
