Okay, you're gonna be all wet. Wait.
Hi everyone, welcome to the Camp Peter's YouTube channel. Amanda and I are staying
an overnight trip here in Idyllwild. It's a little bit windy today so we are not allowed
to have a wood fire but it is supposed to get down into the 30s so we're gonna have
a nice chilly night and Amanda has a special dinner for us tonight.
Ready? Oh yeah, we're on high baby. Tonight we are making chicken teriyaki rice bowls
with pineapple and we're gonna use the pineapple as our bowl. Let's get started.
That knife is sharp. Yeah, that's why we work out. The top part is the hard part.
Cut this guy into a bowl. We're gonna save these bits to use with the chicken.
Chicken, some homemade teriyaki. We're gonna cook up our chicken thighs. I like to chop them up
because it makes it so they get crispy. The rice is done. It's delicious. You smell the food bud?
He says, I would like some chicken please. Homemade teriyaki sauce. I will leave the
recipe down below. We are caramelizing. Smells so good. So I have the pineapple pieces in here
along with some of the juice. I'm gonna put the rice in here and mix it around.
Sesame seeds. All right, we have our chicken teriyaki rice bowl. You ready to try it? Oh yeah.
I am very very excited for this bowl. This is super creative and it looks absolutely beautiful.
We are gonna try a little bit of everything here. We got a little bit of rice, pineapple.
Oh my gosh, my mouth is watering so much right now. All right, first bite guys. Thank you baby.
Oh my gosh, that is so juicy and sweet. I love the firmness of the chicken and that sweet punch
of the pineapple. Rice just gives it a nice little bite at the end there. I love the bowl. It's so
cute. The pineapple is a perfect little vessel for this food. You really nailed the teriyaki sauce.
Yeah, it's a really good sweet teriyaki sauce. Yeah, brown sugar really makes it taste good.
Pretty easy too. A lot of good sweetness in there. Not overpowering and then a little bit
of tartness. Just a hint. Not taking over the dish. Oh my gosh, beautifully done baby. Thank you.
So we went and got donuts earlier. We got an apple fritter, a glazed old-fashioned,
and just like a traditional donut. Although I think I may have a gluten sensitivity. I've
been trying to watch gluten, although I did have a couple bites of the donut. What happens is my
breathing gets restricted and I get kind of acid reflux. I did get to have sushi though for lunch.
I'm starting to realize that I kind of like seafood. I've grown up not liking seafood,
but I like nigiri with salmon. All done. Clean plate club. Got hot hands at the bottom.
Comfy there bud? We just hopped in the back of the truck. It is currently 45 degrees outside,
so it is really nice and chilly, but we are going to be nice and warm in here.
Already in our sleeping bags. Amanda has her heated blanket on. We're just gonna watch some
videos on our phone and then we are gonna head to bed, so we will catch you guys in the morning.
Good night. Good night. Good morning. Let's make some coffee. Okay. Instead of my muffins, I'm now
having like a quinoa oatmeal. I do quinoa, fat-free milk, the Fairlife milk because it has extra
protein, and then a little bit of syrup. It's exciting for me because it's something different,
but to anyone else, they might think that's pretty bland. It's great fiber. Great fiber.
For breakfast, I have some homemade sourdough. We're gonna do sourdough avocado toast with egg
and garlic chili oil. All right, while the toast is toasting, let's see if we got a good avocado.
Oh, it's perfect. Don't worry, I'm not scratching the pan. Luke didn't want a runny egg. Garlic
chili oil. I don't know how spicy this is. So we have the avocado toast with Luke wanted
scrambled eggs, so I just made like an omelet and the chili garlic oil. Let's see if he likes it.
Avocado toast. So fancy. Fancy in the woods. Fancy. It almost looks like little bacon bits,
those little chilies. Uh, they will surprise you more than bacon bits. Probably, but my mouth is
watering. I cannot wait to bite this. Thank you, baby, for breakfast. You're welcome.
Yeah, it's not spicy at all. Not yet. A little bit different of a breakfast. This is really
nice. It's a really good balance of all of those ingredients. I really like the avocado in there
and the egg. It's very, very rich. You got like a soft sourdough bread. The chilies are a little
bit sweet. It has a little sweetness to it, but you can also taste the oil. Smells really good.
Yeah, definitely a hint of garlic. It is sweet, but it is not spicy. Oh, I can feel a little heat
now. Just a tiny bit. It's not... You're getting into like the oil part. Yeah, it's not like...
I wouldn't consider that as strong as hot cheetos. Oh, okay, then that's something I can handle.
Avocado and toast are just like the perfect combination. We're all packed up here in
Idlewild Campground. This is more correctly known as the Mount San Jacinto State Park,
but if you guys made it this far in the video, thank you so much for watching. If you could,
like and subscribe as it helps us out, and we will see you on the next adventure. See ya!
