Exploring Dorothy, Alberta, a tiny prairie ghost town located east of Drumheller in the heart of the Canadian Badlands region.

Founded in 1911 during Alberta’s railway expansion, Dorothy served nearby farms with a grain elevator, school, post office, and churches. Like many prairie towns, it struggled through drought, the Great Depression, and rural population decline.

When rail service was abandoned in 1969, Dorothy lost its connection to the outside world. Businesses closed, families moved away, and the town slowly disappeared into the prairie.

Today, only a few structures remain.
