An Architecture That Lets Time Do the Designing | Casa San Francisco
Casa San Francisco by Jorge Garibay Architects is a vacation home located on the outskirts of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, set beside a vineyard and deeply informed by its landscape and architectural heritage. The house is composed of five carefully arranged volumes connected by a central corridor, organizing social and private spaces while framing views of the surrounding fields. Through the use of locally sourced stone, unpolished Mexican marble, lime-plastered walls, and restrained detailing, the architecture emphasizes material honesty, permanence, and the passage of time. Rather than seeking visual spectacle, the project focuses on light, texture, and spatial rhythm, allowing the house to age naturally and remain in quiet dialogue with its environment.
