Today we set the world record for the fastest car without a roof.
We've got a record with an open car with 453.9 kilometers per hour.
282 miles an hour in a car without a roof.
450 kilometers per hour is of course a crazy high speed and we achieved it multiple times today here
and with the temperatures and the conditions not being absolutely perfect but still good enough,
we were capable for more if the track was a bit longer.
The biggest challenge to achieve the high speed with the Mistra is for sure compared
to the 300 plus that the roof is missing. It's more complicated for the aerodynamic
but thanks to the wind deflector on the top and all the aerodam which we put in,
we have made it possible. You don't have a roof so I was expecting there to be some
buffeting in the car but actually the way the aero has been designed there's no buffeting
but what you do have is this incredible noise of the air ripping.
We say always form follows performance. This is kind of our motto. You don't design a car just
for the sake of designs. There are no thrills, no unnecessary everything for a reason.
This is really the swan song of W16 with the Mistral we are celebrating the end of a big era.
The era that started with the Veyron and continued all the way through the Chiron
and now the Mistral and the Bolide. Bugatti go the extra mile on everything they do,
you know the quality of everything but also what the car can do. We are all about lifting
the limits, showing what's possible. We are not at the limit yet, the limit is still out there.
And if comparable it's not even a Bugatti.
