Lovely to see you again
Okay, so I know that you and Charlie are big supporters of each other
So I want to ask specifically about partying with each other
What's it like to party with Charlie XCX and I'm gonna ask her the same question. So she's so I'm gonna put these together
We go all night we have the best time it is it's always another it's an adventure and a side quest an adventure and a
Side quest it's very fun
And making a movie with her, of course
I have to ask you because I know there's only a few people that had to do the long hike up the mountain and the donkeys
Were the help?
Tell me about the hikes
So tell me about those long hikes and the donkeys I
Don't know what this says about me as a person
But I felt like I was exactly where I was supposed to be every single second of the day
I love that volcano. I love anything that involves some kind of like
Striving for something. So the fact that our day began with like nearly two hours up a volcano to start filming pretty magic
Well, thank you so much and congratulations
How are you, so the one question I have for you is
Well, you guys had to take like a mile walk of hike up the hill so what's more difficult to work with
Was it like cast of Avengers or working with the donkeys that were helping?
The donkeys were great. I've been asked a couple times about the donkeys. The donkeys were wonderful. They were great
No, neither were difficult. It was it was nice. I can up that mountain, you know, it felt like you were
earning your paycheck
Well, how are you doing good sir
Thank you very much you too. Okay, so is this more of like a
Celebratory color because you really like the film is it or you just felt like looking fly tonight?
It's a little bit of both. I like I like I like that
You were bright colors as a bright flag to be like, yeah, I'm happy to be here. Right? I just love blue
Okay, you gotta help me out. Yeah. Okay. I'm like, I feel like an investigative journalist. Okay. Yeah, I haven't seen the film
Everybody's being coded
There was donkeys for some people to go up a mountain
Did you have to work? I didn't get that. I didn't have the privilege of working with the donkeys
Huh? Okay. So always only a select few
Okay, okay. All right, so tell me then what what can you tell me about the
Concept of the movie and how it could possibly relate to current times
That's a great question, okay, the concept of movie is
An eco gala of being thrown by a billionaire
Is invaded by eco terrorists looking for sacrifices?
Necessary necessary sacrifices to save the world. Yeah, you know and I mean, how's that relate to the world? I mean we go
Not maybe not in the same way yeah
You know, maybe the idea that so
So few have so much influence over so many there's something to that
the hoarding of wealth
While the disparity finally got something. Well, you know, thank you. There's something to it. Yes
Yeah, so few have so much. I hope you have so much while so many have so little. Oh, thank you, sir
He doesn't just look the part
How are you Tyrone good, okay. Well, first of all, congratulations. Thank you very much. You're here showing your work at the
50th anniversary. Yes. I have to ask you about filming in Greece taking these long hikes
What was that like and then and how reliable were the donkeys? The donkeys were amazing
I mean in Greece, we build the Parthenon with donkeys, you know, so true true
So
No, it was amazing. It was like an adventure, you know
It's like taking your whole crew and your whole cast on an adventure and saying it's gonna be difficult. It's gonna be on location
It's gonna be tough weather and like all the energy that that that shooting on location brings
But what it does is that it makes something where when people sweat they sweat for real when you know
Like it brings some some kind of like danger and energy. I was gonna ask cuz
What are the benefits of like this practical filmmaking versus like CGI
It's not even like a director stick is like I'm very stupid with CGI if I don't see a car
There's no car, you know, like so it's it's very basic. It's not it's not even me trying to be cool
It's it's literally I'm I'm very stupid with if I see a green screen I see green
So so I need to see the things in order to make it. Okay, I want to ask you about
Charlie because she obviously have made such created her own world a world builder
with the brat
Culture and all that now. I wanted to ask you
What does she bring to the film because it's the first people are excited to see her
Yeah, I mean, it's she she's an amazing actress, but she's doing like kind of a plus-plus cameo in the film
But but yeah, I don't want to give too much but she's she's great, but she she's gonna be amazing
So she kind of playing herself like Chris Evans is kind of playing himself
Yeah, she's she's she plays a singer
But it's a small world. This is so much fun. Everybody's like asking questions trying to get clues. Yeah. Are you excited nervous at all?
I'm very excited. I'm very excited. I'm very happy about the film and I'm very excited to choose to share it with the world
Well, thank you so much. Thank you. How you doing? Okay, so I haven't seen the film
So
What's your impression so far and and can it possibly relate to any realities of course our current industry always?
but I think in a twisted way because how my glasses is a kind of a
twisted kind of
so
No, I think it's kind of maybe it will be like a satire
But I think it's the original idea comes from something that really happened
It could be real could be real thank you. I haven't seen the film. Okay. Oh, you're infantry. Okay good
Cuz I always love being able to watch it first so I can ask some questions
But so you gotta you gotta give me some give me some ideas around like what it was like having to take hikes
Like a hike to get to the movie set
So I was spared the hikes because I did not I'm I can't give too much away
I was not in that particular section of the film gotcha
So only a few core members of the cast
Did that incredible hike with all their bags on donkeys on Santorini Island?
but I did get driven up into a marble mine every day to go to work and sometimes be sort of
running across an uneven marble floor into a
Enormous chasm
so, okay, let me ask you this because the little that I do know about the film so far is that there's like
like a cult that is interested in
Saving the world, but then it's at the cost of a few people. Am I close like
okay, so
How close do you think that that can correlate to our current Hollywood industry? Oh my god our Hollywood industry specific
Well, one of the things I love about this in this movie this particular organization or cult whatever you want to call it
Sounds like you were a part of the cult now that you know, you want to find a nice word for it
I know I'm being very pro-cult right now. You're like pro-cult. I'm just trying to be you know neutral
There is something about it where on the one side
There's danger and threat
And on the other side, there's maybe something like deeply powerful and profound and with great
Integrity to the mission to the intention. So I don't know. I don't know how we can translate that
You're choosing your words
Let me ask you this you since I started chatting with you you have been smiling ear-to-ear did you enjoy your time on this
I love thinking about it. I love remembering things and I love trying to figure out how to tell you about it without giving it away
I'll tell you this and it's definitely piqued my interest even more and I can't wait till I get to see it
So for tonight, we're at the Toronto International Film Festival. You look absolutely
perfect
So I would say enjoy your night and have the best time and I hope we get to talk about I hope we actually get
To talk about it once I've seen it. No, we can like book club it. Yes. Great. Perfect. It's a deal
How you doing man, we're trying to cozy up in here this is real film festival style right now
What can you tell me about this movie cuz I haven't seen it and everybody's being secretive. So
What's your vibe right now? If everyone's being secretive, I'm not gonna say anything, but no, it's fun
I mean, it's it's it's a really good. It's a great script. It's great script is great actors. It's a good vibe
I'm happy to be a part of it. But it's it's it's also a good motive
You know, like the story is needed today. I think the story is for real. Wait, hold on
Why would you say why would you say needed because we're not when I asked the director
He did say that it could be related to current times and it could be rooted in something real
I think so. I think so when I read the script, I realized everyone's talking about a lot of stuff, you know
Everyone is just posting a certain, you know country or certain things just to look good
People are doing it with the wrong intentions people are being forced to do but no one really wants to sacrifice anything, you know
You say hey, I want to help
Yeah, the other do you really like our people are really letting someone into their home are people really sacrificing anything for the greater good
So I think this is needed and I'm not saying I am I'm not I sound preachy now
But I'm you know, I'm not sacrificing that much in my life
And then what can you tell me about the music in the film?
Music is great. There's a little surprise in there. There's a it's a lovely surprise. Yeah
Now the smile got bigger the smile just got bigger I just realized what the surprise is and then I okay
We're all gonna see it on the big screen. It's gonna be beautiful
Pleasure to meet you pleasure to meet you
