🇻🇳 Vietnam Day 2 | My Son Sanctuary & Best Banh Mi in Hoi An 🥖✨

It's raining today. Yeah, we should bring our umbrellas. It looks really nice outside. You're happy to be here in Vietnam? Mm-hmm. Are you? Mm-hmm. So you still want to retire here? Because the cost of living is just so affordable. I don't know though, I mean it's just so affordable The infrastructure, I mean just like over there, it's like the Philippines. You have like the, you know, the water tanks and the infrastructure just isn't there, you know. But if I never wanted to work again, we could just retire here. This hotel is really nice too. It's a different place. You want to, you want to head down? How's your sleep? Lovely. I just found out there's an AC in here. What the ****? Oh my god. It wasn't that bad to be honest. Yeah, this looks good. Maybe you need some salt. When we first had this in Sapa, I just like it because of the fish sauce. I've never had this before. It looks like, you know, like Filipino tamales. It's really good. You need to try it. He dipped it in the sauce, babe. That's all the flavors. We went to the Philippines. Holy ----. It's like gangs of them, like so many, like so many people on the bikes in the city. Good morning. Day two here in Vietnam. We are excited to be back. We love Vietnam so much. People here are very hospitable, and Vietnam is a very beautiful country. We're here today with our regular travel crew. What are you touching? It feels good up here. Nice and cool. Now the city is just hot. Look at this American. Ran straight to the fan. Well, it's hot anyway. The bike ride was fun. I think I haven't been, I haven't used bikes since I was like in sixth grade. So we're here right now at My Son Ancient Temple Sanctuary. Really nice right here. Look like you, feels like you are in Tomb Raider. Just like the one in Angkor Wat. Wow, this sun is so hot. My Son Sanctuary is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an ancient temple complex built by the Champa Kingdom between the 4th and 13th century. It's surrounded by lush jungle and was once an important religious and cultural center. They're pretty advanced for ancient times with the modern hinges. Got a little upgrade. This is their smoker. Throw the firewood in here. Leave a cold smoke method. That's why it's got the hole up here. The smoke would filter out. They smoke the sausages and cheese and meat in there. Don't take a tour with Chad. Cool. Yeah? He's dumb. Parts of the sites were heavily damaged during the Vietnam War and they're still in the process of restoring it. So you'll notice a mix of ancient ruins and modern bricks. Even so, still fascinating to see and imagine how grand this place was. Sorry, I didn't finish my mushrooms earlier. Anyway, we're here at my son. This is an ancient temple ruins. About an hour away from Hoi An. The sun is so strong today. It was nice earlier this morning. This humidity sucks. As noon approached, the weather started getting much warmer. I definitely recommend visiting as early in the morning as possible to avoid the heat. By the time we finished exploring, we were completely soaked in sweat. We cooled down with some ice cream and cold drinks while watching the cultural show, which was really nice to slow things down. I just gotta keep up the momentum. Ah, we're good. Yep, I got it. I just have to remember not to look at the actual camera. Look at where I'm going. Afterwards, we biked back to the shuttle pickup point. And honestly, the bike ride was the highlight of this trip. Cut in the middle. Oh god. Hey Mel, look. Riding through the scenery, feeling the breeze, and just taking it all in is a perfect way to end our visit. After our trip to my son, we headed back to Hoi An for lunch. All of that exploring definitely worked up an appetite. We decided to try Madame Khan, also known as the Banh Mi Queen. This spot is one of the most famous Banh Mi places in Hoi An. Banh Mi Phuong is probably the most well-known, especially since it was visited by Anthony Bourdain. But since we didn't want to walk too far into the town, we decided to give Madame Khan a try instead. Eat it with the bottom. With this and the roof. The line was already long when we arrived, which is always a good sign. If you see a queue forming outside, you'll know you're in the right place. The prices were very affordable. Chad and I ordered three Banh Mi and two drinks, and it all came out to around seven dollars. Honestly, you really can't beat the great food, generous portion, and amazing flavors of such a good price. It was a perfect lunch stop before continuing our day in Hoi An.
