Afternoon on a Small Dairy Farm-An Evening Milking Cows.

Here's our first heifer of 2026. Mama is right there. So I compete bred Vanilli. So she was bred to a Holstein bull and an Ayrshire bull and I thought it'd be a lot easier to tell which bull took. So I don't know it's I mean obviously she's black and white like a Holstein but some of her spots are a little bit more like I would think you'd see on an Ayrshire. So I don't know. She's pretty though. Yes you are. Yes you are. You're a cutie pie. We named her Risky. With the warmer temperatures the last couple days the cows have gotten to go outside for probably about four hours they're out here. Yesterday they were pretty frisky though. They were pushing each other around and stuff. I just wanted to take a peek. Got a couple here that their check back dates are today, tomorrow, kind of right around there. One of them is just with Holstein heifer. We bred her to a show bull again. Greasing it. You're greasing it? You gave me a heart attack when I come in the barn and you were over here. I was like oh no it plugged again. How's it going? Your favorite job? Because it's easy? Yeah. She is very overdue for her calf. So I've been every night every few hours going down to check on her. Any day now. All right so I found one of my old toys and the boys have been working on it. I'm sure you're probably familiar with it but you got to try to get this ring off of here so that it's completely off. Josh did figure it out so now Jordan's going to give it a whirl. Let's see.
