Xiasi Ancient Town is located in Majiang County , Qiandongnan Miao-Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province. Sitting on the bank of Qingjiang River, Xiasi Ancient Town is a well-protected water town with ancient jetty which was once an important stop on the Tea-Horse Ancient Road in ancient time
What to see?
Xiasi Ancient Town ,a home of Miao, Yaolao and She ethnic minorities, attrscts tourists because of its beautiful natural scenery, cultural & historic attractions. The major must-see places are Yangming Academy, Huangmu Museum, Ziku Pagoda, and Lusheng Square.
Houses and buildings in the ancient town were built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1911), which are preserved well with South China's architecture style. Walking around the town, you can enjoy the view of Qingjiang River that will make you have an amazing trip.
The beauty of the old town is simple but it is a pleasant experience. Stopping between the bridges on the riverside, thinking about the ancient times, sharing this relaxation with colleagues and friends, and adding a leisurely pleasure to the stressful work, is a wonderful enjoyment.
The old town of Xiasi was built on the Qingshui River. The old town was very old, and now it has been renovated by the government. It is a bridge. First, it is the huge archway of Xiasi ancient town, with four big words, "Xiasi ancient town" standing.
I love this village!! It’s an old port town with traditional wooden houses. The town is very peaceful and you actually get to enjoy the hospitality of Miao people. Somehow it seems that big tourist buses haven’t found this gem and despite some independent passbyers you get to have the town all for yourself. The blueberries are really sweet and juicy here and the food is really delicious. I love the noodles diet with blueberry juice.
The old town of Xiashi is known as "small Shanghai", and is called "the pearl on the Qingshui River", and is the town of red crane, zinc millet and world famous dog. Xiasi Ancient Town is a town adjacent to the water of Kaili City, Majiang County, the middle of July of the lunar calendar, people here follow the tradition of holding dragon boat competition, bullfighting, car flow, shoulder-car, lively and extraordinary. Historic sites include: Xiashi Kochin, ancient pier, street and lane, Miao hanging tower, Xiatong and Zhuangyuan Di, the site of the king of the king, Kannon Kaku and bunsho Kaku, and the hometown of Zhang Xianpei, a strong man of Yuan Shikai, who was bombed by the domain.
Xiasi Ancient Town, which is known for the scenery of the mountains, rivers, and gorges, lies at the upper reaches of the Qingshui River, between Majiang County and Kaili city in Guizhou.
The culture of the Miao, Mulao, She and Han ethnic groups is reflected in the town's history and architecture, such as the Dong-style Drum Tower and Miao-style Stilt House. Most of the buildings along the streets feature the Miao-style wooden structure and some of them have the brick-and-corbie-step structure of Hui style. The brick buildings on the riverside, the clear lakes and green mountains make for a beautiful landscape painting.
