Wicked: For Good | Glinda's Evolution

Fellow Ozians, it's good to see me, isn't it? In Wicked for Good, there's just a lot of growth and a lot of consequences for Glinda. Come on, you don't want to miss this. And I really enjoyed digging into what it really means to be Glinda the Good. Thank you. Good, good, good, good, good, good. Every day I would do stunt training, vocal training, and dance rehearsals so I could live in her as much as I possibly could. Because in Wicked for Good, you get to see so many new dimensions of Glinda. I love reading the script over and over and scribbling in between the lines and asking questions about her character. That means a lot to me, Elfie. What's this intention here? Like, what is that coming from? So that I had everything I needed in my emotional toolbox, making sure that everything has a meaning behind it. So you get to kind of see her heart. You see, he wasn't going to harm me. He just, he loves her. One of my favorite things about this process is tracking Glinda's growth. And it's just such an evolution. And I think finding those beats for me was the main challenge, especially because these films were shot simultaneously. I had to shift gears mentally when bouncing back and forth between the intensity of Wicked for Good and the lightheartedness that you can feel in movie one. On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, you're in school. And then Thursday, Friday, Saturday, it's years later and you're a completely different woman. Spread a rumor that her sister's in trouble. She'll fly to her side and you'll have her. I really tried to find that balance to maintain familiarity in certain ways, but also bring my own heart and my own ideas to her. Did you hear what I said? It reminded me of the journey that she's been through to get here. Seeing Ari come back in the audition room over and over again, not believing that there's no way she can do this right. Every time she astounds us. I noticed that there were like certain pieces of myself that felt really aligned and adjacent to her. And you finally get to the real human at the end of this film. It's really a privilege and that's why I'm so protective over her. I'd like to try to be Glinda the Good. I feel so lucky to be able to walk alongside her on this entire journey.
