Light accumulation is possible for a coating of two inches; Berkshires and higher hills could see three inches.
And now the 22 News Storm Team forecast.
>> Good afternoon. I'm Storm [music] Team
Meteorologist Alexa Biano. Forecast
focus for today. So cloudy, light snow
we're going to be seeing this afternoon.
And then we do see some scattered
freezing rain tomorrow afternoon as well
into the evening. And then we do have a
warmup midweek. That does bring some
chances of rain though. Temperatures
right now 21 in Northampton, 19 in
Westfield, 21 in Springfield, 16 in
Orange, 21 in Pittsfield, and 26 in
Great Bington, and 19 in North Adam. So,
it's chilly out there. It's going to
remain pretty chilly today. High temps
today only going to climb into the mid
to upper 20s. So, 25 in Greenfield, 24
in Orange, 27 Westfield, 28 in
Springfield, and 28 in Northampton. So,
chilly all the way around. Wind gusts
not going to be too bad today. A little
bit of a light breeze, but for the most
part, pretty light today, which will
help decrease that wind chill a bit and
not make it so so frigid. But, we are
seeing some of that snow come in now
that that from that clipper system. It's
pretty scattered though. could see some
flakes already flying around, but for
the rest of the afternoon, it is
remaining pretty scattered throughout
the rest of the afternoon. So, you can
see here by the time we get to 2:00, we
are seeing those some of those scattered
snow showers continue throughout the
rest of the afternoon. Cloudy
conditions, pretty scattered even
through the evening commute. And by the
time we get to 7:00, another round does
come through and remains pretty spotty
until about 10:00. We could see some
light accumulation from this, but
nothing too too crazy. And then by 8 am
tomorrow morning, we're still seeing
that cloud coverage continue and for the
rest rest of the afternoon. By the time
we get towards the four o'clock tomorrow
afternoon, we start to see that freezing
rain come in. But even for the evening
commute, some areas could see some
scattered freezing rain, especially up
in Franklin County and even northern um
Berkshire County. So just be wary of
that. Give yourself enough time. Be
careful on the roads regardless. That's
where it can get slick. It remains like
that. Pretty scattered. And then we do
see another round around 10:00. And if
you're going to be out that time frame,
just be careful. Then it does start to
switch over into the Wii hours between 3
and 4 a.m. to scattered regular rain
showers. Then we're drying up a bit by
Wednesday morning. We could see more
scattered showers. One couple of the
models are not really agreeing with each
other. So there is that chance to still
see some scattered showers for the early
half of Wednesday morning. So we could
see some about a coding two and two
inches from what we're going to see that
snow from today. Higher elevations in
the Birkshars, North Adams, Pittsfield
could see a little bit over two inches.
So I'm going to put one to three. But
again, light accumulation, nothing too
crazy. Cloudy, light snow showers today.
24 to 28 is your range of highs. And
then tonight, early light snow, mostly
cloudy. 18 to 22 is your range of lows.
And here is the 20storm team 7-day
forecast. So, light snow today, upper
20s, mid30s tomorrow, freezing rain
later in the day. And that does linger
to some morning showers on Wednesday,
much more mild and temperatures in the
40s. And we dry up the first half of the
day on Thursday. And then we see rain
showers potentially into Friday,
remaining pretty mild, getting close to
around 50 degrees on Friday. Another
chance of showers on Saturday. Warmest
day of the week around 52 degrees and
staying mild on Sunday, but some chances
of showers. So, we have a lot of active
precipitation going on. The only dry
really day with some maybe some sunshine
is Thursday for the beginning half. Stay
updated with the forecast on the 22s
app. It's for download and at wwlp.com.
