In this video now, I'm gonna share some news and some things that I have done
about the preparation for my next trip to South America.
So, if you are interested in that and you have nothing to do,
grab your favorite drink and stay with me.
Welcome back!
The truck that I use at the moment is, as I said in one of my previous videos,
this is the commuting option that I have to the town.
It's not that I don't have another option, of course I have,
but I really enjoy coming here almost every single day
to do some practice, to stretch my legs,
some kind of training or exercising, if I can say it this way.
Anyway now, what is important that I want to share now
about my upcoming trip to South America?
Most important, I bought my tickets.
I already have a date.
So, on the 21st of November, I'm going to fly to Madrid
and from Madrid, I'm going to fly to Bogota, Colombia.
So, on the 22nd, if everything is all right, I'll be in Colombia already
and we'll start the final preparation about this long journey.
And I'm so excited because until this moment, it was only a plan, a dream,
but now the dream already got a date.
When you have a date, that means I will go there.
So, the ticket is fucked and if everything is all right,
if I'm in good health and I have no other problems,
I will fly there on the 21st.
The second important moment that I would like to share now,
especially for those who plan to make such a trip
because these updates or these thoughts that I'm sharing now
about the upcoming trip, I do it mostly because I understand
that many people will plan similar trips
and they will like to have some kind of information.
And the next thing that I'm going to share with you
might help you with your overall preparation.
And this is about filming the trip.
As you know, I film all of my trips from the beginning until the end.
And this trip is not going to be an exception.
I'm going to do it again.
But so far, until this moment, I was filming everything with GoPro Hero 7
and I was recording on 32 gigabytes SD cards.
So, I do not carry any computers or notebooks or tablets
or something like that with me.
What I do usually, I record everything on the SD cards
and later when I get back home,
I don't download the information from SD cards to my computer
and edit everything.
So, for that purpose, on each one of my trips,
until this moment, I had something like 20-25 different SD cards,
usually 32 gigabytes each.
And now many will say, why 32 gigabytes?
You can have much larger options now, like 128 or 256, even bigger.
But with one specific reason, I would like to have as small as possible,
because if I lose it or if it somehow gets corrupted for some reason,
I will lose just a minimum material from the whole journey.
Because, as I said, I would like to have everything filmed on the whole trip.
But now I have a small problem.
It's not really a problem.
It's something that I have to work on it before I go.
Because now I film with this Osmo DJI action camera.
And before that, with GoPro Hero 7,
I was able to record almost two hours on 32 gigabytes.
Now with this Osmo, with the same SD card,
I'm able to record maximum 55 minutes.
Which means that I have to have double more SD cards
if I want to have the same minutes or the same hours of footage.
So now I will have to buy maybe 64 gigabytes SD cards
to have the same amount of minutes.
But this is something that you have to have in mind if you plan to record your trips.
Another small change that I have made,
it's not really significant,
but I believe that it will help me significantly if I have to use it.
I bought a new set of tire levers.
Because until this moment, I used the tire levers from Motion Pro.
The one that has option to unbed the tire from the wheel.
But after my experience with these levers in Magadan last year,
I had four flat tires.
I realized that, yeah, they are perfectly fine to unbed the tire,
which is most of the time not necessary.
Because until you stop, it's unbedded by itself.
But the edge of these tires is very wide.
And it's difficult to mount and dismount the tire from the wheel.
So the new set that I bought, they've got a specific shape.
They are curvy, which is very good if you want to remove the tire from the wheel.
And also put it back.
And on the front, as you can see, they are very narrow.
And this is very good when you want to remove the tire from the wheel.
It helps a lot.
It makes the thing so much simpler and easier.
And another one important information.
As I already told you, on my trip to South America,
I'm gonna ride the motorcycle that was given to me from Thomas.
It's Honda XRE model.
It's the South American version of CRF 300, 300 cc.
And I really look forward to ride this motorcycle.
But now we're gonna organize and eventually buy
exactly the same motorcycle for my riding friend and mechanic Plamen.
So we're gonna have two identical motorcycles.
So we need to carry less spare parts.
And everything will be much more easier.
So this is for now guys.
Just a short quick video to update you what is going on and how the progress is going.
But the most important, I have a final date.
21st of November, I will fly to Colombia.
All right, take care guys and see you in the next one.
Ciao!
