Another month, another country, and another vlog. We're so excited because we're back in Vietnam.
This time we're exploring Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue, and My Son over the next five days and we can't
wait to share this journey with you. Vietnam has become one of our favorite travel destinations.
It's rich in culture, full of history, and the food is always incredible. Let's be honest,
Vietnam is also one of the most affordable places to travel, which makes it even better.
We just got to An Nho Hotel and this is our home base for the next few days.
Our adventure kicks off in Hoi An. Once we settled into our hotel, we jumped right into exploring.
With rain on its way, we made a beeline for town to enjoy as much as we could before it hit.
We met up with our usual travel crew plus Drew. Traveling together always makes the
experience more fun and we were so happy to all be together again.
For lunch, we decided to stop by Morning Glory, one of the most well-known and highly recommended
restaurants in Hoi An. We were actually really excited to try their signature Vietnamese fusion
dishes as they've been known for their delicious and unique culinary creations. Not only was the
food amazing, the location was beautiful. Overlooking the ancient town and the river,
perfect first meal to kick off our Vietnam adventure.
After lunch, we spent some time hitting a souvenir shop and just walk around town. Hoi An is one of
those places where you really want to slow down and take everything in. We walked through the
car-free streets passing iconic landmarks like Japanese Covered Bridge, one of the Hoi An's
most recognizable symbols. Hoi An is a historic city in Central Vietnam, known for its signature
yellow buildings and its incredibly well-preserved ancient town which has been a UNESCO World Heritage
Site since 1999. The city is most famous for its thousands of colorful silk lanterns
that light up the streets and the Tu Bon River every night. Hoi An is also known as a global hub
for custom clothing where visitors can have suits, dresses, and even leather shoes made to order.
All tailor-made and it's ready in as little as 24 hours. Chad didn't get the suit made this time
but we're definitely saving that for our next visit. We popped into a few more souvenir shops
and I had a personal photo stamp made, such a unique keepsake to bring home. Then the rain
finally caught up with us. Instead of rushing, we grabbed some gelato and waited out, waiting for
the rain to stop and for my stamp to be finished. Moments like this are what make travel memories so
special. Because of the rain, we decided to cancel our outdoor cultural show we had planned.
Instead, we switched gears and opted for something a little more relaxing.
We headed to Riverside Spa and each got an individual deep tissue massage.
This is one of the things we always love doing in Vietnam. It's so affordable and so worth it.
You can get an hour-long massage for around $20 and that's already included the tip.
After a long day of walking, it was the perfect way to slow down and recharge. One thing we always
try to do when traveling is to make time for relaxation. It balances out the busy days and
makes the trip even more enjoyable. We ended the night with a stroll through the night market
and grabbed dinner there. Drew went all in and ordered a whole grilled buffalo and surprisingly
it was actually really tasty. No smoky flavor at all.
The night was perfect, good food, glowing lanterns and great company.
Speaking of which, how are we getting home?
After that, we headed back to the hotel and called it a night.
