WE MIGHT HAVE MADE A BIG MISTAKE!! - Shopping Hypercars at Car Week

Thursday morning, getting ready to go to the airport,
going to Monterey for Car Week.
My first time at Car Week, never been there,
so I'm super excited.
Jordan's not with us today
because his kids have first day of school,
so he's gonna be hanging out with the family
and running some errands.
I think he might pick something up from the garage
that he's been wanting to take over there.
Another thing I wanna do is check out
the Gordon Murray T50 and the Zenvo.
I'm super excited to look at those cars.
We've been hearing a lot about the Zenvo Aurora
and of course the Gordon Murray T50.
And you know what?
We have two Chirons.
Maybe it's time we traded something,
traded in for something a little bit different.
Maybe, we'll see.
I've never seen one in person,
so enjoy seeing Jordan running some errands
and me in my first Pebble.
All right, bye.
We've spent the last 25 years building a business together.
Now we're building the ultimate driving collection,
all while having fun with family
and maybe kicking a push or two along the way.
****!
On our way to Monterey, super excited.
So this is a bucket list item for me.
I'm a PCH, two hours away from Monterey.
A lot of cars to see.
Megan, that's my beautiful camera woman.
Hi there.
Hi.
Jason.
Jason, it's Jason.
I've met Jordan.
I'm sure you've had this your whole life.
My whole life.
My dad called me Jordan more than me.
So this is, there's two models.
One is more track focused, one is more comfort focused.
The spectaculity actually is easy to get in and out.
That's the good thing.
Sweet.
For such a sweet car.
Come to the other side,
and I'll let you sit in the driver's seat.
Yeah, I mean, it's beautiful.
Sit inside, I want you to feel comfortable.
So it's easy to get in and out of.
Yeah, I like how narrow the...
Yeah.
Yeah, I think somebody sort of
actually liked the car.
So really compromised, I think.
You have to step in the seat, and you know,
that's something you need.
Yeah, it's perfect.
So one of the things that's really cool,
if you want me to explain, you do it and explain.
So you press it down and hold it.
Everything that's on that gauge,
it turns into a digital mode,
but everything is still on the outside of it.
So if it was your RPM gauge,
you're going to see it over there.
So that'll go through the different screens.
Oh, that's really cool.
Yeah, your navigation.
It's basically Apple CarPlay.
I love how the CarPlay's right there.
Mom's calling.
Oh, Mom.
Yeah, let's drop Mom.
And then that right there is a really cool feature.
That is your blind spot.
Is that front EV and rear?
So this is coming four-wheel drive.
Okay.
As standard.
This one has got three electric motors,
two on the front axle, and one on the gearbox.
That one has one electric motor just on the gearbox.
It's very impressive.
Yeah, you guys did a great job.
And we're doing just 50 units of each.
So 50 units of that, 50 units of that.
All right, guys.
We got the new seats in here.
So this is my 570 GT4.
It's been in BDD's garage,
sitting here with Jason's 570 GT4.
I want to get it back to my garage.
I like having a display.
Oh, worst turning radius ever,
but that's the way it's supposed to be.
Oh, this is cool.
We got to get these things.
Now that we have the seats,
we're waiting on some modifications.
Oh, this thing is rattling like a son of a.
This thing is so cool looking on the road, though.
God, we got to get these on a track, boys.
We don't have really any experience on the track at all.
We've only been around a few times.
It'll be, you know,
I'm excited to learn from an instructor and to get better.
You know, a lot of people out there
like to tell us how we are at driving.
And you know what?
You're not wrong.
All right, so we're pulling up here to my garage.
I think it's been a while, guys,
since you've seen anything with my garage on the channel,
ever since we got BDDs built.
You know, this is kind of like
the redheaded stepchild garage.
So we'll move some cars around here,
get this into place, hopefully.
I was just talking on there.
I don't think that my garage has been in videos
at all in a long time.
Oh, it's been a hot minute.
It has, and this used to be like the garage.
This was HQ?
This was HQ.
Did you see I forgot how bad the turning radius is?
Yeah.
Oh, you really got it correct.
Do you want it angled?
Yeah, I want it angled a little bit.
Before you hit the master switch off,
hit the start stop button to shut the engine off.
Wait until the car is asleep to flip the master, okay?
You will know it's asleep
when the start stop button is no longer illuminated red.
Hush little baby, don't you cry.
Ah, our business is done here.
Super excited this is in here, guys.
I've been wanting this in here for a while.
I've been having trouble pulling it away
from the matching one, which is Jason's.
It's been a while.
We have the Tecnica over here, the Senna, the P1.
See it back there, the SV.
I mean, there's stuff all over the place,
but this used to be HQ.
We outgrew it.
We put 26 cars in here at one point
before BDD's garage was done.
You remember that?
I mean, we were going through cars like this.
That is pretty neat.
Look at that.
Isn't that cool?
And I think you can get optional colors on there too.
Oh wow, that's really cool.
So this is cool.
This is pressed carbon fiber,
but that's also your exhaust shield too.
Is that correct?
Gosh, I love both of them.
You're right.
Hard choice.
That was the one point.
So you can get this four wheel drive
just like the other one,
would it have the electric front?
Correct.
You kind of gain 200 kilos
and you gain 300 wheels.
Okay.
That's a tough choice, Todd.
It was, I don't know.
I think I'm leaning towards this one.
I just love all the aero.
I think it looks so cool.
It's like every time I look at this,
I find a different design element with it.
Like this part is just, it's insane.
Seeing that, seeing in the back
and seeing the suspension.
I love seeing the back of the wheel.
Yeah.
What I noticed yesterday took me a while.
Let's look at where the air conditioning vent is.
Integrated inside the dash.
Oh, right here.
Isn't that funny?
It took me a while to see that.
That's cool, yeah.
And I love that the whole dash is floating.
Very different.
A unique design element.
Yeah.
That is really cool.
Very, very different.
And some of the things too,
getting in and out is a lot easier in this car.
As you know.
I mean, look how narrow.
Yeah.
And then, you know how to get out?
No.
Do you have a checkbook with you?
Yeah.
I'm in the 765.
We're gonna go see George
and see how the Lambo's doing.
The engine should be out.
We're gonna talk to him,
ask him some questions.
See what's going on.
I hate traffic.
Come on, man.
You know, I really like seeing you,
but I hate seeing you at the same time.
Don't worry.
I'm not gonna turn you in for clutch abuse.
Oh, is it?
Is it clutch abuse?
Oh, my God.
Is it?
You see that blue spot?
Yep.
But you think that's just from abuse, right?
Oh, yeah.
We see it a lot.
Very common problem on the Mercys is the clutch.
Of course, that's the fuse.
Is that resistance?
That's the motor?
Yeah, that's the motor,
and that's the new flywheel we installed.
Wow.
That's the release bearing right there.
New one's already installed right here.
Real cool.
Yep, that's already on.
We're gonna replace the accumulator.
This is a common failure.
This hose is a little on the weak side,
but it's not cracked.
A little bit of seepage on these lines.
I'd leave them alone.
They should be okay.
Okay.
A little bit of seepage on the actuator.
The nice thing about on a Mercys,
once we put a new clutch in it
and all the new parts on it,
pull the motor over,
put transmission, everything on it.
We put it underneath the car,
plug everything in.
It's designed so that the computer harnesses
will come around and plug in.
Okay.
And then we got to spend about half a day
setting up the clutch.
So if any issues happen,
it'll usually happen before we put it back in,
which thank God,
because this is a huge job with the front wheel drive.
Oh yeah, I'd imagine.
I mean, to get all of it out,
that's crazy.
I mean, look at that thing.
It's huge.
I know.
One human power.
What is this?
The Time Attack.
It's a special edition.
It's faster than your car.
No.
I was going to be pissed.
I know.
See, I have a little bit of trouble
with the special commemorative ones
because I like my own unique spec.
So like that one,
there's like 20 of them with just that spec.
Oh, really?
Okay.
That's just a commemorative,
like the Bugatti Supersport 300 plus.
It only had the orange.
The green and black's different.
Yeah, it's good to see you.
That thing is so fast.
I think we got 170 in the quarter mile
and then you look down,
you're going like 185.
It's like, holy.
So congratulations today.
Thanks.
It's a new record.
Yeah.
Oh, it's a new record?
Tell us.
The Nürburgring.
We broke the production electric car
Nürburgring record.
So the short distance,
70 minutes, one second.
A long distance,
seven minutes, five seconds.
I was hoping for under seven minutes,
but it was our first time
and the conditions were not great.
It was very hot.
So the tires didn't hold up well,
but pretty good.
That's pretty awesome.
So is this one to commemorate the Nürburgring record?
Yes, yes, yes.
You're going to give me a drifting lesson?
Yeah, we bring some tires and stuff.
Oh, that'd be awesome.
I want to learn how to drift.
I'm coming for this.
Oh yeah.
He's a pro drifter.
You're a pro drifter?
I mean, that's how we met each other.
Actually, he told the story
how I started a company
by converting a 1984 BMW to electric.
The reason I started that was
because my engine blew up
and the guy who blew up my engine was him.
So you're really responsible for the whole thing.
Yeah, I took shares.
I'm trying for the last three years
to blow up the engine here,
but no success.
Do you have a Diablo I can sit in or no?
Yeah.
I'm thinking about, I don't know if I'm too,
I know I sat on one before,
but I'm really thinking about a 6.0.
So I just want to like sit in a coupe
and just see how it is again.
I have a 6.0, but I got an early one.
I would recommend a Roadster.
You know, I think the Roadster looks a little better.
It's an awesome looking car with the top off.
Yes.
97.5 or 98, exactly right.
That gives you the variable valve timing,
almost 40 more horsepower.
Gives you the big Brembo brake,
still has the pop-up headlights,
which is very preferred.
But the Roadster, you're going to fit it.
This is an SE we're working on for the guy.
Oh, not bad.
I could see the convertible better though.
Yeah.
How do you feel?
Just great.
Not bad.
Are you like a little cramped?
I mean, definitely like,
I don't know if I would do a coupe.
I want a red Roadster, a red 98, right?
The passenger doesn't have a lot of room either.
Isn't this funny?
This is what they had to do for the airbag, right?
Yep.
Wasn't this more of like an afterthought?
Yeah.
Right here, because it's not in the dash.
Sit in here.
These seats are skinny.
Sit in here.
Yeah, if I asked.
This would be fun though.
These car pedals are a little close.
Oh yeah, they are.
I was just thinking like,
well, because I have like thinner shoes on too right now.
So I would almost need like race shoes.
This is how I was in the Aventador a little bit.
Who do they make these cars for?
Well, people were just,
people were just smaller back then too.
Appreciate you taking the time.
Always.
Enjoyed it.
Thanks for the business.
We'll get out of your hair here.
Don't want to take up too much time.
I love it.
Thanks for the business.
Thanks for breaking it and bringing it back.
Not a problem.
You break it, we fix it.
That's awesome.
Who's that?
My Bessie.
Aww.
Hi Chad.
In his orange special MSO jacket.
Let's take a look at this fan up close.
So that was fan technology in Formula One.
Oh, sweet.
It would throw rocks.
Is that why it was banned?
Yeah, that's why it was banned.
So this is modeled like the original F1,
just like this B-Tail.
I can't believe you guys didn't take one of these.
That was a big mistake.
So this is our first Z50.
This is full carbon body, carbon chassis,
four liter V12 naturally aspirated,
670 horsepower, revs to 12,000 miles per hour,
11,000 miles per hour.
It gets there quicker than anything else.
I'm really excited.
Seriously, they're all fans.
Hey.
Come on, let's go in this way.
Okay.
I haven't seen this thing in a long time.
It's been like eight months.
You know, so it's been a while
since you guys have seen it on the channel.
It's been about eight months.
We actually shipped it out west.
It did get serviced
and we did know a couple of people out there.
So we wanted to let them drive it,
have a little bit of time with it.
You know, Nick knows a couple of guys
that are interested in it.
So it was kind of like an extra.
So we left it out there for Nick Jones.
It did get some wear and tear on the PPF.
We've been racing it a lot.
We've been doing a lot of stuff.
So we're bringing it back here at Esoteric
to get all this.
I mean, he's hard at work over here
to get it right back in tip top shape.
Well, I mean, it's part of PPF.
It's there to be the sacrificial layer.
Gets a little beat up over time.
You replace it.
You fix it up.
I swear, I will say every single time it's on video,
it is worth its weight in gold.
This is really cool to see,
but I don't want to keep you though.
We just wanted to do a quick stop by.
Yeah, so this is the new Perfumante.
We have this on order.
Let's check this out.
Okay, this thing looks pretty sweet.
That's a great spec, but I love white.
Everything's in white.
Let's check out the straddle.
I'd be like, she's crazy.
Okay, we can't get back to him
because Winkerman's doing an interview.
We don't want to bother him.
They get mad when you get in front of them.
Okay, and we have the Red Waffle.
I've never seen any of these cars in person,
so it's really cool.
This thing looks bad.
Okay, this is the Lanzador, the all-electric.
Okay, this seems super weird.
It has a Lamborghini with no engine.
It does look pretty cool.
If I'm thinking all-electric SUV,
I'd probably go on Lambo.
This is pretty cool.
What do you think about the paint job here?
Flavor.
Solid gold, yeah.
Well, this is the car I'm most excited for.
The Mestral.
This is one of my favorite parts.
The way the Bugatti comes out too.
Look at this.
I love that.
The intakes right above your head.
That's gotta sound crazy.
I love this color too.
This color looks really good.
I think we're gonna probably go blue.
So this is the Golden Era.
This is the last W16.
Celebrating the end of the era
with an all-petro or combustion engine.
Everything is now going hybrid, but it's pretty cool.
You can see here it's got hand drawings
from the early, early models,
and it wraps all the way around.
All the way around.
We can see here, 1987 to 2023.
We got the EV110, the Veyron, the Chiron.
You can see on the far side,
they've got the old carriage cars.
I can't imagine how much work went into those hand drawings.
So we've got the Super Sport Golden Era
to the Golden Mestral.
This is celebrating the last of the W16.
So with the open top, just like the Vitesse.
What a great way to end the W16.
