Maximilian von Schönberg
(Eching, 30 January 1737 - Fürstenfeld, 10 May 1792)
German composer, cantor, and regens chori. Almost nothing is known about him. He joined the Fürstenfeld Abbey in 1754, took his vows in 1755, and was ordained as a priest on 1 June 1760. Throughout his career, he served as a choir director and composed music for liturgical use. He lived and worked in the Fürstenfeld monastery until his death in 1792. As a composer, only his 'Offertorium 'Vicisti magne Deus' Pro Festo S. P. Augustini à 4 vocibus' (1759) is extant.
