🗺️ About the route:

I backpacked alone in the White Goat Wilderness and Jasper National Park August 24-28 2025. The route is a 37 mile loop and starts/ends at the Nigel Pass trailhead in Jasper. The route is completely off trail in White Goat and mostly on-trail in Jasper. No permits are needed to do this hike, unless you stay in one of the campgrounds along the Brazeau River. I stayed in the four point campground on my last night and had to reserve my spot, but it is possible to hike out in one long day. The route visits some very wild and remote areas and I encountered almost no people once I got into White Goat on day 1.
