Brazil 🇧🇷 vs. France 🇫🇷 - Quarter Final | Highlights | Women's World Championships 2025

It's Brazil in yellow serving, France in blue receiving. Quarterfinal action from the Women's World Championship here in Thailand and that is going to be a side-out start for France. Net touch by Brazil. Jai's serve is easily dealt with. First run through the middle for Gianna and that works. I talk about this a lot but establishing the middle, blockers have to follow her now for the rest of the match. Not a great pass from Rota. Kersouk with work to do. Straight up. Another chance here for Brazil. Rosmaria, no way through for her to find the floor and Jai, that's great defensive positioning from Brazil. The rally continues but not any longer. Rosmaria gets a high hand swing for the point. Both teams need to expect to be patient. The defense from both sides has been phenomenal recently, opponents with that defense. Gabby's serve, it's an ace serve from Gabby, what a start for her. Great ball. For those of you that may not have seen Gabby play before, watch her arm swing. It's a great serve. There's a free ball opportunity now here for France but they couldn't get a full swing, it doesn't matter. Perfect placement from Iman and Jai. Stojkovic going after Gabby and then a positive set from Roberta, taking that ball's energy. Macri's into the back row, Kizzy into the front row for Brazil. Continuation block only. Chance for Jai and she's shut down big time and a great time for Brazil to make that block because now they have the lead. Julia's serve is easily dealt with by Celan and Kazut finds the baseline, that's miles in. We're gonna go beyond 25. That's a decent pass, little inside combination, the first one they've run of a set. Jai with the serve, Stojkovic is into the front row, so there might be an opportunity for Brazil but right now they've got to give a free ball to France. That's not the best free ball though. Oh I say what a swing, what a dig by Kazut. Those two going after each other big time but then the play and Brazil take the point. Another set point for Brazil, off the net this has to go wide. Kazut to keep France in it but she's slowed down. Swing chance for Borgman but it goes to Jose Maria and she slowed down. Kazut gets another chance, another chance for France though. Set two underway, France serving, Brazil leading by one set to nothing. That's a swing from Jose Maria right onto that baseline. Yeah I'm keeping my eye on the reactions of France here. I think the aggressive swing but there is now a break point for Brazil. And put pressure on it, they're in a good place. Kazut goes for it but it's kept in play. Borgman does well, just a down ball though. France with a chance, good up from Roberta. Gabby quite a little too far in front but she comes up with a good angle. Rally's still going, better chance now for Brazil. Borgman, ball in front of her and she's able to put it away. Good ball in Borgman. Oh the pace on that, Rosa Maria. It's hard to read that set. Decent serve. Oh that's a good pick up from Gabby and Borgman. Incredible, nice and high, taking on the block, really aggressive. France have to side this out and they will do. They're still in the set for the moment. Roberta is in, it's set point France. Saved by Brazil. Goes wide for Rotar and she's just been playing so well. She's found her rhythm in attack. Roberta, oh that's a great serve. Question that play from Jelum. She's played it in the front row and she's jumped to play over the net. Gabby with the serve. Oh it's a good serve. And Chayi makes it difficult for Brazil. Now Kazuk's out of the play, has to go behind and the block. It's a turnaround. Brazil, set point chance again. Beluga, that was a perfect pass. They could go quick wide to Borgman as well. Getting around the block and she's figured out how. What can she do from service? Well Gabby deals with it perfectly and the side out is perfect. It's set point again. Good ball from Jelum. Oh the Rotar tip, that could be costly. Gabby, out of the set. 33-31. She can do that over the shoulder, off the hands and out of bounds thing. That's a good ball in. But Gianna waiting for that. Your elbow comes past your ear, not your hand. That time the block was on a one-two and the ball was already hit from Kazuk. Not a great pass from Rotar. Oh she was so close to making up for it. So good from Kazuk. Free ball France. I tell you what, the introduction of Gianna to this game has been almost inspirational. In this set alone though, the fourth missed serve from France. Space, Jose Maria makes it work. She's been doing that all season long in Japan. That's too easy and that's what you get. Oh that's going to bounce down from Borgman. Well played Rotar. It's a good ball but it's a great block. Borgman, good ball, lovely pace in the middle and stretching the middle. Good serve. Gabby against two. No good. Great block for France. Rotar with the serve. Nice ball. Oh lovely. That had some speed about it. What a swing from Gianna. There's the combination play. We knew it would be coming. It was a question of when. Forward. Good touch from Jose Maria. Oh yes, Borgman. There is confidence oozing from every player for Brazil right now. Benjai. Oh that's a great serve but what a great ball in. Well the block is resolute for France and much needed break point for them. Good ball in. Benjai. That's a great dig. There's half a swing chance here for Borgman. Oh she's got it and that's it. Brazil have done it. It is all over. It was a net touch by France in the block and would you believe it 25-19. Brazil have beaten France 3-0.
