In this episode we depart Scotland from the southeastern coast of Islay and begin to explore Ireland’s west coast. We thought long and hard about whether we would transit the eastern or western coast of Ireland. On the east, we would need to content with the Irish Sea and the massive tides and currents there. On the west coast, we would be much more exposed to the open Atlantic ocean and all of the weather that typically approaches from the sea. We picked cruising down the west coast to be able to see the amazing cliffs and craggy coastline.

We anchor off of Arranmore Island then sail to Portacloy and spend a few nights there. The cliffs above Portacloy are stunning to look and walk upon!

Join us next time as we hop further south along Ireland’s west coast!

Thanks for watching!
