In the chaos that was the FBI raid on Donald Trump's home in Mar-a-Lago,
one of the many questions that hasn't been answered yet, and there are many,
is how did the FBI know what to look for? Well, now thanks to a new bombshell report,
apparently there was an informant on the inside. Please welcome former FBI Special Agent Michael
Tadman. Michael, thanks for being with us. You had served for 24 years in the FBI,
so you know a little bit something about what is going on behind the scenes. You're not at
all surprised that there's an informant. No, I was not surprised. As you mentioned,
I thought that because mostly after 24 years of working with informants and affidavits and search
warrants, you kind of see the fingerprints on it, sort of like a profile. So the nature of what
happened, the rapidity with which the FBI changed direction, the fact that we need this very
specific information to know what to look for, where to look for it, and the fact that they took
this very extreme measure of getting a search warrant for a former president, knowing the
blowback there would be, they had to be pretty confident that they knew what they were looking
for. And generally that kind of specific information that makes you comfortable
will come with someone who has first-hand knowledge. In order to get a search warrant,
someone has to physically see some sort of evidence. Is that true? It can't just be hearsay.
Kind of true. You have to be able to present a reasonable, I'm sorry, probable cause that
evidence is there or something like that. That just makes the probable cause that much stronger.
Also, the White House is adamantly denying any prior knowledge of the raid,
swearing that President Biden was not briefed on it. Earlier in the show,
we were joined by Congressman Bob Good, who had this to say.
Joe Biden, there's no way he didn't know about this. The administration is lying,
pretending that they would send out these FBI agents against a former president without
alerting the president they were going to do that. Clearly, they're lying about that. Perhaps
the president has forgotten, but I'm certain that he was appraised of it and his staff was appraised
of it, along with Merrick Garland, of course. We've got to take that action. And again,
I fear that we need to start over when it comes to the FBI and the Department of Injustice.
Bombshell new documents show that the FBI argued they did not have probable cause to raid
President Trump's Mar-a-Lago home back in August of 2022. You may remember that raid was to recover
classified documents from the first Trump administration that were allegedly improperly
taken from the White House and stored at Trump's Florida home. Now, newly released documents show
some in the bureau felt they didn't have grounds for a search warrant, despite reportedly spending
six weeks trying to establish that they did. One official going so far as to write, quote,
absent a witness coming forward with recent information about classified on site,
classified documents on site. At what point is it fair to table this? But according to these
documents, the Biden D.O.J. went ahead with the raid anyway, despite the objections.
George Toscas, an attorney with the D.O.J.'s National Security Division,
was reportedly one of the several officials who seemingly pressured the bureau to go ahead with
the recovery operation, with Toscas, according to court documents, saying in a phone call that,
quote, frankly didn't give a damn about the optics of the raid. Those new documents were
made public by Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Truck Grassley on Tuesday, calling them proof of
a miscarriage of justice. President Trump agreed on True Social writing unreasonable search and
seizure. That was the FBI's criminal raid on Mar-a-Lago. This can never be allowed to happen
again. That investigation was one of the several under the purview of special counsel Jack Smith,
who's been a frequent target of criticism from Trump. Smith is set to testify before Congress
today. Man, that is ridiculous. What do you mean ridiculous? It's ridiculous like that.
This is like this proof that this is just fabricated and continue to go forward. I know
you always argue that Democrats did this first. And for some reason, I mean, for many times I
thought it was warranted in this case with classified documents to know that people were
just sitting up there like, eh, no proof, keep it going. That's ridiculous to me and a waste of time.
But I also thought- I think it's ridiculous that they decided to raid the president's
office when there was internal disagreement about whether there was enough evidence to do that.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I'm agreeing with you in that ridiculous sense. I also,
there was many things over that course of time that I thought were creating the narrative of
this witch hunt, which propelled the president and garnered his base in a way that completely
was a fail. And Democrats could have used their time more wisely during that whole time.
And so when I think about all the legal proceedings and then the optics of being in
the news business and probably everybody at home watching the news, seeing the president's home
raided and facility raided- You're going to do that, you better have all your ducks in a row.
So the idea that somebody internally was saying, I'm not sure we really have enough evidence.
There was like, I don't give a damn, do it anyway. Okay, this is the president of the
United States House. That's the ridiculous that I mean.
Yeah, it's ridiculous that they didn't consider, yeah, he shouldn't be treated differently.
I get that, but the level of, and that was a motivating factor in actually returning him to
power because some conservatives who are ready to let Trump go were like, nope, we can't stand
for this. They're trying to perp walk him, can't let it go.
That was where we talked about yesterday how you said, I think you said 30% of people that are
Republican that voted for Trump are like, I don't care what he says, it's more about the policy part.
That was where that 30% who was on the fence and maybe was for somebody like Nikki Haley,
or they circled back and were like, no, this is ridiculous in the same way that I was referring
to the ridiculous earlier. And they're like, we just have to stand behind the candidate because
obviously now it does look like a witch hunt. And there were many things that the president
did that required him to be scrutinized and criticized, which obviously I have no qualms
about doing, but this, to have a raid, I assume that they had all the information that they need
to raid and over the documents, but then to see it fall flat, you start to lose faith that there
was evidence. And then to have this article come out, you're like, okay, you know, this is exactly
why the American public is frustrated with Congress and with our government, because again,
you're spending time trying to persecute your enemies, political enemies, and nobody wants
to do that. And so that's why I always ask when the buck's going to stop.
I would say the same thing if it was someone other than Trump, I don't think law enforcement
should conduct raids unless it's really clear. And the evidence is really compelling because I
don't like, you know, citizens being, I want people's rights respected and, and they got to,
they got to go through the steps, even if they're pretty sure they got to do it properly or, or,
or we're just living in a banana republic where, you know, the government can sick,
not even, not even the leader of the government, the bureaucrats, the faceless bureaucrats
can just come after everyone. That's a, that's not good. Not good at all.
So happening today, former special counsel, Jack Smith is set to appear behind closed doors on
Capitol Hill for a house judiciary interview on the two investigations he ran on president Trump.
This has Fox news has learned that the FBI did not believe it had probable cause to raid Trump's
Mar-a-Lago home in 2022, but move forward because of pressure from the Biden justice department.
One official even said he didn't quote, give a damn about the optics of the search
here to discuss his house, judiciary chairman, uh, Jim Jordan, Congressman,
thanks so much for joining the program. I just want to read the email that we got into our newsroom.
And this is the FBI over to the DOJ absent of a witness coming forward with a recent information
about classified on site. At what point is it fair to table this? It is time consuming for the team
and not productive. If there are no new facts supporting PC probable cause. So the question
is if the bureau didn't feel like they had probable cause what judge signed off on a warrant
to raid the house of the former president. Yeah, I think this just underscores how political this
whole thing was. I mean, we had interviewed Mr. Dan Twano, the head of the Washington field office
way back when, and he told us he was against what they did when they raided president Trump's home.
And he said, if they were going to actually do it, they should have called president Trump's
lawyers that his lawyers should have met him there. They should have done it together,
but no, no, no, they couldn't do it that way. They had to go in like they did without consulting
with president Trump was working with them. So I think it just underscores how political this whole
thing was. Uh, not to mention the other things that happened with Jack Smith's investigation.
Remember they put a gag order on the president of the United States. This is something we'll
ask him about today. They put a gag order on the former president, then candidate of,
and that was shot down mostly by the appeals court. When he, when he got that order,
Jack Smith mishandled the documents that he got in the rain. So he mishandled the
very documents. He accused president Trump of mishandling. They had to file that with the court.
And of course we, we, we know that one of his deputies was engaged in what I think you could
probably call a bribe. When he said to a defendant's counsel, we didn't know you were a Trump guy.
We thought you were interested in this judge position. You can't do those kinds of things,
but all those things, Jack Smith and his team engaged in as part of Artie Frost investigation,
which then was merged with, with the special counsel's investigation.
So you noted one of the deputies, this investigation is going to expand
into the other deputies as well. What other information that you find on those deputies
that is leading you to go forward with that? Well, yeah, we did, we did four subpoenas of
four additional people who worked on Jack Smith's team. We've already deposed three,
actually one of them, Mr. Wyndham, we referred to the justice department for obstructing our
investigation. And we don't do that often. The facts have to be there. It has to be warranted.
In this case it was. So we've already deposed three of them. We got four more. Some of these
people we're going out subpoenaing today were the ones involved in signing the subpoenas,
the subpoenas that went to members of Congress, for example. I mean, think about this Lawrence,
the speaker of the house, Kevin McCarthy becomes speaker of the house 10 days after he becomes the
top Republican second in line to the president. They subpoena his phone records for two years
prior. They go away. They had all, they they'd been investigating for, for months and months
and months. And they wait until he becomes speaker of the house to go get his phone records from
election day of 2020 until January 7th of 2020. They knew who the speaker called, who called him
when the call took place, how long the call lasted. And if Kevin McCarthy initiated the call,
they know where he was at when he did so. And they can pattern his entire life for those two
months timeframe. And he did that after he gets elected as the top Republican in our government.
Again, I think underscoring that this was political, this was about going after the
Republican party. And most importantly, it was about going after our candidate for president,
president Trump. This is why they couldn't find the pipe bomber because they were spending all
their time on this nonsense investigating elected officials and get instead of getting
the real criminals out there. Congressman, we're going to be following today. Thanks
so much for joining us this morning. You bet. Thank you.
