In this video, I'm sharing with you the power of letting go, how free it feels, and how it allows me to have the courage and the freedom to make the leap into living the life I've dreamed of. I hope you get a good dose of inspiration through this video to find the courage to live your own dreams as well.
Hi everyone, it's V here. So in this video today I just want to share with you a little bit about
my van life story and the magic of letting go in order to be free so that I can achieve my
dream of being a full-time digital nomad. So back about more than two years ago
when I first moved to Canada I set my goal for getting a van and living a van and just
go and travel across Canada and figure out my way of being a digital nomad from then.
But fast forward two years later I'm still in Vancouver and I haven't really done anything to
make that dream happen until COVID-19 hit and I realized that
I realized that I was in so much fear and I was just so afraid of
I was just so afraid of everything that I couldn't make it and I just
came up with a lot of excuses like I don't have money, I don't have enough money, my van is not
good enough to go across Canada and I would be lonely along the road and what if something may
happen. It's like my mind came up with gazillion excuses and ideas like what the worst thing that
could happen and what if I got stuck along the road and I don't have money and I cannot get any
jobs online and all that stuff and I didn't even think that I was good enough to be even
to start being like an entrepreneur or whatever. It's like the whole fear of not
being enough it's just so it's just so rooted in all of my being. It just kind of manifests
in everything and just recently I have realized like how big this fear is and how it has
hold me back from living my dream life by being a digital nomad and live in a van and be free
and just travel anywhere. So I realized that I have had a lot of attachment
to what despite the fact that BC is really beautiful and I did have a lot of fun last
summer travel all over different places in lower mainland and the southern gulf islands
but I realized that I have so much attachment because it was like I started making friends and
now I have to let go all those friends too and it's like starting everything all over again but
that's part of being a nomad being a full-time nomad and that you just have to be flexible
and adaptable to make friends and meet people everywhere. It's just like so much of
out of comfort zone and if I start to be so much more comfortable to living in Vancouver
the more I'm attached to it the more I become less likely to let go of it and go forward
with my my dream being a full-time digital nomad. Well I just wanted to do the van life
as long as I can and be a nomad as I want to and I don't know what's gonna happen
beyond that point it's like I don't know what's gonna happen after the road trip
after the road trip across Canada. So I after the COVID-19 I realized that I
like life is so short and you don't really know what's going to happen tomorrow like everything
can shut down and I learned that I could not be reliable on any employers so I just decided I
have to give it a try and give it a shot and do what I can to to make this dream happen and so
I decided I said goodbye to all my friends and I decided to go on the road trip across Canada and
just figure out a way to be a digital nomad and I don't have any plan or any destination
I just have the direction of going toward the east side of Canada but other than that is
to me this is a trip of exploring myself and letting go of all the control and letting go
of all my attachment and what really hold me back from living my best life
and really letting go of all my fears and it was a big leap for me to jump
but I think if I look back in my life and that if I I'd rather to do it than not to do it because
I don't wanna look back in my life and have any regret of not doing anything and so I decided
just to go forward with it and just to make it happen and I wrote six pages long letter of
the things that I needed to forgive forgive myself forgive all those people that hurt me and
forgive everything that really hold me back so that I can move forward in the future and just
transform and be a better person and that's basically this whole journey of exploring
myself it's like this whole journey of going across Canada as well and that's what this
road trip really mean to me it's not just about exploring the outside world but also about
exploring the inside world because I have to first let go of all my fears in order to make
this this road trip this lifestyle happen and it's a lot of that has to let go of what on the
inside of me instead of letting go of only like what's going on in the outside of me
and so I stumbled upon this poem called she let go written by Sophia Rose
that really inspired me so I just want to share this poem with you so on the photos in
one on the photos on the short clips in in the poem is actually the places that I have traveled
through and um and I just put together one the little bit piece by piece to
uh to to make this poem so it's it's my personal inspiration and I I hope that it also inspire you
too so I'm gonna read the poem to you and I hope that it inspires you to let go of all your fears
to make your dream life happen
without a thought or a word she let go she let go of the fear she let go of the judgments
she let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head she let go of the community
of indecision within her she let go of all the right reasons wholly and completely
without hesitation or worry she just let go she didn't ask for advice she didn't read a book
on how to let go she didn't search the scriptures she just let go she let go of all of the memories
that hold her back she let go of all the anxiety that kept her from moving forward
she let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right
she didn't promise to let go she didn't journal about it she didn't write the projected day
in her day timer she made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper
she didn't check the weather report or read her daily horoscope she just let go
she didn't analyze whether she should let go she didn't call her friends to discuss the matter
she didn't do a five-step spiritual mind treatment she didn't call the prayer line
she didn't utter one word she just let go no one was around when it happened there was no applause
or congratulations no one thanked her or praised her no one noticed a thing like a leaf falling
from a tree she just let go there was no effort there was no struggle it wasn't good and it wasn't
bad it was what it was and it is just that in the space of letting go she let it all be a small smile
came over her face a light breeze blew through her and the sun and the moon shone forever more
a bird on a tree i'm just sitting here i got time it's clear to see
from up here the world seems small
