Learning to Ride a Motorcycle… on a Harley V-Rod?! 😳 (Not Smart)

Yes it's dumb to learn how to ride a motorcycle on a Harley V Rod! But I'm slightly infatuated with the Vrod and it's what I have (traded our golf cart for it) so it is what it is. Now I did take a motorcycle rider's course in Florida (Ride Safe USA) back in 2016 - That was 9 years ago! And I haven't been on a motorcycle since. And even then, all we did was ride around a large parking lot on a small 250cc street bike. So I've never ridden a motorcycle on an actual road nor have I been on a motorcycle larger than a 250cc. Those bikes typically weigh around 300 lbs and have about 35 horsepower. That compared to the Harley Vrod is just slightly different - haha. The Vrod has 1250cc (1,000 more cc) and weighs around 700 lbs (twice as heavy) and produces 120 horsepower (4X the power)! So Yeah, just a small difference...haha. And once again...NOT smart and I do NOT recommend learning to ride on a Vrod or any other bike this size!
That being said...I'm doing it anyways and I'm here to document it. But I did grow up riding bicycles and 4 wheelers so a motorcycle isn't a completely foreign vehicle! And I'm super cautious, no ego about it, and safety is a top priority.
So my first practice session was just doing circles / donuts in my driveway working on slow speed maneuvering, throttle control, clutch control, rear brake control, and the ever so important friction zone (balancing the clutch with throttle).
